sorry hor i didnt processed the pictures.. no point make it sharp in ps and bluff yrself..;)

I didn't say u processed the pictures. I merely said that those were the settings in the S5 Pro when these shots were taken.

Why would I wanna bluff myself when I know the capabilities and IQ of this lense? If all pics have to go thru PS for sharpening, there's no need to start this thread in the 1st place.

Oh ok.. i didnt know that..BTW i dun set "hard" in my camera cause the setting would cause jaggies in the photos..

Shoot at widest aperture to ensure no FF or BF problems....

Normally the shop should provide you with the lens test chart to test out...(I got from CP and I was given the chart to test out)...

Wow didnt know that some shops provide test charts. Good!

hi, Im thinking of getting a 2nd hand set. If there's dust in the lens does it affect the pic?

It's normal for lenses for have some dust specks which will not affect the image quality.

Received the lens last Friday and played around with it yesterday.

Found it to be a very fast lens that can produce sharp pictures. No probs with calibration.

Bokkeh ? ...WOW....you have to test this lens out if you get a chance.

hi, i just got a 2nd hand pic from a fellow cser. I noticed that when it is autofocusing, there's this noise coming out from the lens. It's probably the motor. Is it normal?

just a quick check with you folks :)

. . . on a canon 50d, the Sigma 30mm f1.4 would effectively be 48mm . . . is this correct?

TIA! . . . i intend to get a prime lens soon . . . and i'm looking @ this wonderful lens :D

Yes, you are correct.

acquired a 2nd hand one with some front focusing issues.

anyway, for those that are concerned about front/back focusing, sigma singapore will calibrate for you free of charge. so its not a big issue.

made an appointment for next week to calibrate the lens.

Even for grey sets?

Yes, it has been discussed before already.
Wow..didnt know they do free calibration for grey as well.
If this is the case, i might get my friend from hk to buy for me. Was still afraid of front and back focusing problem as she got 0 knowledge on cameras.
Since Sigma Singapore can calibrate for free...it make sensse to get her to buy on my behalf from HK now.

too bad, i don't know anyone from HK . . . so i got it from CP peninsula instead . . . wow, this lens is really amazing! :) . . .

How much is it in HK now?

around SGD620 in HK.

note that although u can calibrate in SG for free, there is no warranty coverage for grey lens in SG. well, at least thats what i know. i will be going sigma to calibrate tmr so will confirm with them warranty status of lens purchased in HK/Japan.
