Got mine before CNY ... cant wait liao ... as baby growing everyday ... dont want to miss all opportunity shots ...

Already had Tamron 17-55 f2.8 and Canon 50 f1.8 before getting this ...

Never regretted for the shots taken to-date .... cos need fast and wide len and usually indoor without flash day & night ... so all depends on yr need ...

So for all who still considering .... die die must try (go rent and try lor) ..... very tempting ... haha

Poisonous piece of glass...

Seriously, I would advise all brothers out there who are still deciding whether to get this lens to think no further.

If you are taking portraits or your kids indoor, the FOV of this lens is perfectly made to match your cropped bodies as 50mm is way too narrow for full/half body shots unless you stay in a palace.

I have regretted myself for not going into DSLR earlier with such good lens to take pictures of my son until he was 2 yrs old. Which meant all photos taken before that (with PNS of course) was either blur or not as beautiful.

Time waits for no one, kids get older each minute until you can't even notice....so if you can afford it, just go for it and wait no more....

Is this lens 30mm full-frame or with DX crop (45mm)?

This is a APS-c format lens, Sigma's DX quality with HSM. It's a very nice piece of lens.:)

Oops... I meant to say Sigma EX quality.

Awesome lens while I had my D90, on Voigtlander now :)

Hi guys, has anyone tried to use this lens with the Panasonic G1 (with a 4/3 to m4/3 mount adapter)? Would like to hear your thoughts about this combination since I own a G1 and looking for a fast prime lens with relatively wide FOV... Thanks for any input :)

If you are looking for large aperture prime lens why not try to get Olympus OM lenses.

1. They are very much cheaper than this one since both lenses only give you manual focus.
2. With aperture ring, you are able to control the aperture you want while this lens doesn't have an aperture ring, unless this lens is able to, so called, communicate with the cam, like the Zuiko Digital lenses..
3. Just get an OM to 4/3 adapter and attach onto the 4/3 to m4/3 adapter and you will be able to enjoy it.
4. With adapter on 4/3 to m4/3 adapter, T2 mount T, Pentex K, Nikon, Contax/Yashica, Leica R, M42 lenses all are able to use on G1.

Get a Micro 4/3-to-M-bayonet adapter and buy Leicaaaaaaaaaa Lenses!

Thks for your suggestion but adapter on another adapter... will that degrade the image quality? :( which local shop is still selling olympus om lens? :)

I'll PM you about this question, don't want to OT here. Cheers!

keke.. thank you :)

Just bought this lens! Pretty happy with it so far, doesn't seem to have any major issues with front/back focusing.

After reading all the various threads between the Nikon 35mm 1.8 and the Sigma 30mm 1.4 over the past few weeks, I bit the bullet this morning and ordered the Sigma :)
