Sigma 18-200mm with OS

if im a nikon user, should i get a nikon VR18-200 or the Sigma 18-200 DC OS ?

Well, let me put it this way cos I'm a previous Nikon user(may :gbounce::vhappy:back again=Nikkor-Lenses still:thumbsup, if I'm using Nikon now I'd not want to look else where/much when come to Lenses-hope you get what I'm try to say.(may PM me 4 more info/details)

according to the above, this lens was used on a 10D which is a 1.3 crop cam, so can this be used on a 1 D?

the above stated at 200mm, the F-stop was at 5.6.....but the max for the lens at 200mm should be 6.3?

10D is 1.6x crop. The lens report the aperture back to the body as f5.6 to fool some bodies which won't focus if the f stop is slower than f5.6.

You're right, it ain't for D40/X if you want AF.

this was just launched. initially the nikon mount didn't come with af motor.

It is true, the new 18-200 OS has HSM now! At the same price! See here:

But the f-stop specs is a bit confusing...the top, bottom and side of the page tell 3 diff f-stop for the 200mm end.
