Is this a good walkaround lens?
How much is it selling in SIngapore?

I have this lens and I am very happy with the results I got. Of course the downside being that the focusing ring turns when you use AF so you have to be careful to ensure your fingers aren't gripping that part during AF. Other than that, I really can't say anything bad about the lens.

Using a Kenko 72mm UV filter, I haven't experienced vignetting at 17mm.

It's quite heavy though for the focal length. My 350D with grip tends to tip forward when I mount this lens if I place it on my table.

Overall, highly recommended.

Here's a snap shot taken in "macro" mode, at about 30-40cm from subject at 70mm.

I am also using this lens. The build is decent and overall i am very satisfied with this lens. The focusing speed is quite fast too.

How is the image quality compared to the Pentax kit lens?

wat about the focusing aperture? F2.8 at 17mm, when does it goes to 3.5? 4 ? 4.5?
