Sigma 105mm f/2.8 EX DG Macro (Four-Thirds Mount)

These flower pics are all taken with the Sigma 105mm at the Singapore Orchid Show. The longer working distance afforded by this lens came in quite useful as some of the plants were placed quite far away or high up such that the 50mm would have a problem getting good close-up shots of them.

Well these shots convince me to get the Sigma lens.
Now the question is where is the best place to get the best offer.
Just purchase my E500 with dual kits two weeks ago so in need of a marco lens.
Was thinking of getting the ED50/f2, but now willing to forgo the one stop f.
Believe prices for both lens are quite close - correct me if I'm wrong

I can easily get this lens at about $670 from Taiwan. But I am not heading there anytime soon. Maybe in late Jan.

Fellow olympians.....just got a qoute from mscolor for $695 and Tk for $680.I'm not an expert so can somebody give some advice whether to get this lens or the 150mm range(sigma) which cost $1080(Mscolor) and 1030(TK).Btw,they told me it could be available by mid of january.(gst included).I second the idea of mass order

Just got my 105 macro from AP Funan - can't bargain much paid $ 690 inclu GST
Sales rep claimed 4/3 mount quite limited in the market - and they have to make some profit also.
Did try earlier at CP - don't have 4/3 mountng

Same here bro.I often take snapshots of my HYPER lil' kids and was thinking an extra distance from them would make it easier for me to take natural shots.i,m also considering the 150mm.But it is soooo expensive sure hope we could find someplace selling it at a better deal

Hee... ;p I just got one. Price is about S$1,020 (GST inclusive). Only managed to test shoot a few pix when I collected the lens last week. Like the image so far. Auto-focus is fast and quiet. The build quality is also good. Being very busy with work lately so no time to take the lens out for a walk to explore it's potential.
