Agree. ZD 11-22mm has a better build quality. It is weather-sealed also. S$200 more is worth the $$. Remember ZD lens has a resolution of 60l/mm. Sigma is half of that.
To add, we have not seen picture shot with 10-20mm on a 4/3 mount. Let's wait before commenting. I'm worried about the distortion level given that it is 20mm (on 4/3) on the wide end.
Of course it will be a big difference on FourThirds due to the 2x multiplication factor of FourThirds. I know from having tried a Sigma 16mm fisheye on my camera, the fisheye effect was totally cancelled out, and it was less wide than the 14mm of my 14-45mm...I had figured that the fact it was a fisheye element would still make it wider, but it was a surprise when it wasn't.
actually when you shoot with a wide angle lens, the DOF is REALLY huge. From the DOF calculator, at 11mm on a E510, f2.8 anything beyond 1.43m is in focus. You don't really need to stop down the 11-22mm to f4 unless you are shooting something right in front of you. I shoot at f2.8 all the time if I need the extra stop of light.
i think the lens is only announced... not out yet.... but you could try checking other mounts same model.... prob around the same px.....
i think 50-200 will still have an edge in terms of IQ but you would be paying (my guess) 400-600 more.... however for the amount you get SWD which means faster focusing speed vs HSM, weather sealing body and the extra 20mm reach....
