PLRBEAR said:Hehe...i've done SIN-YVR via ICN before. Two seperate legs of course. :bsmilie: My fiance thinks i'm a nutcase, but it sure felt like flying home when i was in Canada.
porn-star said:If you think you're a nutcase, then the people below are a lost case.
Before you think its some swanky flight simulator @ a school, its actually in someone's home. For course, it runs on Microsoft FS. Click on image to access his website
And the folks who started all this is known as the Project Magenta . Goto their Reference page to see all the home built cockpits. I've been following their site since they started, and they've certainly come a long way.
siron said:Gosh....how I wish that I could have this simulator at home!! WOW... does it have montion sensors too? From the Video looks like there is!! hmmmm
Wonder how much will one cost?
PLRBEAR said:I WANT!!!!!!!
I've taken off and landed with the 772 simulator before. It's one of the most memorable experiences i'll always have by my side.
It was always my dream to become an airline pilot for SIA, but my hopes were smashed when they told me i didn't qualify due to a lack of a science subject in university. Ever see a 30yr old cry before?![]()
porn-star said:If it helps you, I cried too when they didn't allow anyone with asthma like me to fly. The rational told to me back then was. .. "When there's a sudden decompression, you should not be the one to black out." Point noted. :sweatsm:
My memories is limited to the few times I sat in the jump seat in SIA and MAS flights. I was the first time I found out that one can actually smoke in the cockpit. Wished I had a camera then. Take off and landing at night was a real sight to see. Last time used to travel and my ex-co used business class and when there's no place you'd get bumped to 1st class. So can easily request for jump set. But now no more thanks to Osama bin a-hole. ;(
PLRBEAR said:Thanks for sharing your experience with me. It does help knowing that there are people out there with similar dreams and aspirations. I can relate to the disappointment you most probably felt at that time for sure. I know about the smoking "vent" in question. Quite distant from what it was built for. :bsmilie:
Wai said:I saw the exact same thing when i was on the roof top near the old kai tak airport....that was 10 years ago.
I climb up the roof top to take pic of planes landing, there was a Qantus plane doing the same stunt, i tot the plane going to crash siah, there were lots of smoke when the wheels touch the ground.
The amazing thing is that the plane actually pull up again , make a U-turn and then landed safely on the second try.
I really hope i can capture that scene but guess what, my camera died for no reason at that instant
latmo said:i really miss kai tak airport where taking plane photo is so easy .... (but i was too young that time to own any camera ....) you have to be the best of the best pilot to land on kai tak ... the cross wind can kill ... still remember how i saw a china airline crash into the sea while landing on typhoon 8 in kai tak ... china airline is so dangous to me they hold the record of last crash in kai tai and first crash in chek lap kok .... :thumbsd:
Really? The requirements for being a SIA pilot from what I know, min is a diploma, any diploma that is! hmmmmm....PLRBEAR said:I WANT!!!!!!!

PLRBEAR said:... there are also personal reasons why i may have not been selected.
PLRBEAR said:Min requirements are A-levels. However, given a choice, they will select those who have taken a science subject at A-levels, Diploma or Uni. Reason for this is that they assume you'll have an easier time in flight school. Apart from that, there are also personal reasons why i may have not been selected.
