OT - so will your son be a great jedi knight like his dad? and what's his name? Skywater (aka Rain)? *just kidding, no offenses pls* :bsmilie:

Btw, did you get your camera model wrong? E520 doesn't have art filters. You meant E620 don't you?

Cheers~

I am using E520.

There is a workaround using olympus studio.

Hi all,

Newbie oly shooter here. Just a quick self-intro and my set-up.

I’ve just started this hobby about 2 months back, bought my 2nd hand E-500 from this forum. Loved the photo output from the cam, but some how the lens felt a bit lacking. At first, I wanted to buy a 70 -300mm Tele lens but the price was to prohibitive… I happened to chance upon this a Rokinon 500 F 6.9 mirror lens from Amazon.

I read all the reviews, seen some of the pictures and still was okay with the lens.

Even with the adapter, chip, lens and shipping all in all, it cost me a measly $300+.. What’s the worst thing that could happen? A $300 paper weight I guess.

I’ve now owned this lens for about 3 weeks already but I’m damn happy with the results even thou some here might think otherwise.

FOV of about 1 degree, “lack of contrast, sharpness”, big aperture f 6.9 and higher ISO needed. I still love my results to bits…

Okay, that’s that for the intro. Here are the pictures.

For frame of reference, this was taken at the rooftop with the stock lens and stitched together. (P/s. Besides my panaromic shots, all other pictures had no digital manipulation or cropping done besides rotating and resizing of the pictures.)

The floating stage is on the extreme left side of the picture.

Using my 500 mm Lens,

Camera Model / Make : Olympus E-00
Adapter Used : (Not sure, Came with lens. T-mount I guess)
Lens Used : (Rokinon Mirror 500mm F 6.9)
Shooting data : (ISO 1600 1/750 f6.9)
Additional shooting information : Taken with @ Esplanade roof top, same spot as the panoramic picture. Was a overcast day at about 6 30 pm. Thus the high ISO.

For more pictures with my lens , see http://www.flickr.com/photos/kenr1ck/sets/72157621286857994/ (12th July Esplande Roof) or
http://www.flickr.com/photos/kenr1ck/sets/72157621328838586/ (13th July Cosfest 09.)

Any thing else I need to add?

Cheers
