A bit of a Deja vu here but here it goes again...

If there is anything more beautiful than the FA trio in my collection, it IS the Zeiss Duo:

Woot... nice...
So poisonous......

;) Thanks.

I just realised from lenstip.com that

"... in a package we can find a handwritten quality certificate, signed personally by Japanese optician who checked and tested correctness of optic elements, aperture mechanism, cleanness and clarity of lenses and barrel and finally completeness of package."

I almost didn't realise it. There is really a lot of pride that went into these Zeiss lenses. It almost make me drop a tear. It is just not the kind of lens you'll find ubiquitously.

For those interested, I would urge you to get them soon as Cosina has announced that they would stop the ZK (K-mount) line. Stocks are limited too.

Hey, what is the other Zeiss in the picture beside the Planar 50? Look like the Distagon 25mm f2.8 ?? Beautiful lenses :)

It's the 35mm f2 - cheapest of the lot of wide-angles actually. I had always wanted a 35mm staple. The FA35 is too plasticky for my liking; the DA35 is more suited for product shooting for me. FA31mm is slightly wide and this Zeiss 35mm really fits the bill for me. It is extremely dense (heavy) and long though.

It definitely beats the FA31, in terms of the overall quality of the lens - built plus optics. If I had gotten it earlier, I would totally advise you to for for the zeiss 35mm. Ah... Ok, maybe MF is the deal breaker for you here...

Nice collection.;p
BTW, isn't this thread for Pentax gears? :bsmilie:

Should have gotten the ZK50f2 makro and 85mm f1.4 instead if i were you... both more useful and better lens...

Yah MF is the Deal Breaker. Sometime, AF lens is good.. ;p

I have the 25mm f2.8, I was contemplating previously between the 35mm f2 and 25 f2.8 and decided to go for 25mm f2.8 as I favour shooting wide angle. Anyway, I think both are the same price I recalled. These little guy can really focus close, I am able to get a focus lock at 2cm. The build and image quality is really something :) I actually have the Planar T* 50mm for my Canon first and was sold by the lens, so decided to get one for Pentax :)

These are really a keeper lenses especially now Zeiss decided to stop shipping ZK mount.

Third party also can. As long as it has a K-mount I think. Haha.

Wow! That be great and also for M42 non-Pentax lens.:)
Maybe can start a thread "Show us your gear for Pentax..."

Yeah. The 50 macro is one good one too. But I wanted a 35mm badly. As for the 50 1.4, I got it becos it was selling at a great bargain. The 85mm is a great one too but I don't have the moolah to complete the trio le. I thought I would just make do with the FA77. Ha. Or am I wrong? Reviews on the 85mm ZK seems a bit mixed too. Can share your opinions?

Kudos to the ZK's.

i dun own any so i dunno leh... the 50f1.4 got mixed reviews actually... but i have not use 1 so i dun know... for 35mm i dunno... if its something u need then its fine... cos i feel u have too many similar focal lens... i thought something different would be good like the 85 or the 50 makro...

Yes, the 50 1.4 isn't that good a lens too based on reviews. The 35mm is quite sweet but vignets quite a bit but I am still ok with vignetting as it adds to the feel of a photo for me. I found myself favouring 28-35mm and sometimes a 50mm - more for walkaround and casual shooting purposes. I don't see much action with 70mm and above unless it's a planned portrait session. I agree the 50 makro (very special they spell their makro this way) and 85mm are good add-ons.

If I would to restart all over in photgraphy I would build up the zeiss'es and skip the Pentax limiteds altogether. But... I had spent much effort these years that I can't simply nor bear to sell them off now.

Here are my "new" Asahi Pentax family member.
Electro Spotmatuc - 1st aperture-priority automatic SLR sold only in Japan market in 1971.
ESII - updated version of ES launched in 1973.
