wow, that's very impressive. I will be so lucky to be able to add just one lense in the same period of time.

These are cheaper lenses, wait till kenna the Leica lens poison, by then will be a lens a year.
So far only 1 piece of Leica lens and it is a cheapo one

Not that , just different lens got different character,

those not for sale will be keeping them for a while at least

Very impressive collection for such a short period of time.

Selling the M8.2? Making way for coming M9? :bsmilie:

Which is your favorite lens among the 50mm? Do you like the canon 50/0.95 tv lens? Seen some nice bokeh shot with this lens at flickr.

Wartime Carl Zeiss Sonnar 5cm f1.5 T lens, in LTM.
(HCB supposedly used such a lens. Too bad, me no HCB, so cannot produce pix of his quality :sweatsm: )

Then maybe you should get the new M9. I heard there's a HCB/Capa switch at the top plate. :bsmilie:

Anyway, I'm getting "influence" by the many pics in this thread. =x I think it's time for me to get a new kit!

Hi wallis,

This might be of interest to you....

Cheers,

Thanks Benny. Yup, read that before, but I believe in Brian Sweeney more. Actually real or fake sonnar is quite easy to tell - two things: the coating colours (typical zeiss vs russian lens coating) and the engravings (vs silkscreen). Also, when you hold them in your hands, you can tell the difference immediately, just like a Leica IIIC and a russian clone.

For shooting, a canon 50/1.5 or even a 53-57 J-3 is just as good. The VC made c-sonnar is similar in signature, but with much higher contrast (and much higher price). The build quality is not great, typical VC standard. Not worth it IMHO.

Cheers!
