It's not standard dropping! That's Hacker's style-If he wants it sharp, he can make it sharp & he wants it blur he can make it blur with all the superduper softwares that he has-selective sharpening & de-sharping! I remember how he can turn photos taken with my Noctilux @f1.0 into something that looks like taken with modern Lux50f1.4Asph:bsmilie::bsmilie::bsmilie:

Yeah, use Noctilux and then picture come out like Leica Elmar f3.5. Better I use Elmar! Blur the serial numbers for new lenses. Old lenses no more warranty, no issues. :bsmilie:

Stay tuned for more camera p0rn :bsmilie:.

Hacker, Summilux 80f1.4R serial number is showing:o
Cannot show serial numbers leh....all hand held in low light . Never see sun rising when going to work, come home also never see the sun. :embrass:

Elmarit locks into place, Elmar screws into place. Wha...how come testing me?

No serial number, but this is RF, not DSLR.....

Oh yes. I know about the post processing and other enhancements. I know that it's possible to fix distortions, enhance sharpness and saturate colors to the point that crappy sub hundred dollar Canon lenses can look like the summilux 50mm ASPH!!! But it's too much hassle. Just go for quality optics easier.

You mean.. never see son when going to work and come home also never see son!! :bsmilie: That's why you should shoot more and can put in an electronic photo frame in the office!!

I'm surprised that the Elmar is not much more compact compared to the Elmarit. Shame.

Cheers,

While waiting for the R10...what's a guy to do? :bsmilie:

Hacker,

How come picture standard dropping lately? All like blur, blur and out of focus. Too much feeding throughout the night?

Not my standards lah. Benchmarks and standards set by you man! Can't be possible that the M8.2 or D700 cannot do the lenses justice. :bsmilie: By the way, thought you got rid of this lens?

Great! Super sharp & show serial number too!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Gommy, what's the deal with serial numbers? You going into be like those serious Leitz collector who can spout dates from serial numbers!?

Cheers,

$325 for a filter!! Good thing that I didn't pick up a new M8.2 with a 35/1.4 ASPH yesterday!!! I can't afford the filters thereafter!!!!! I got a very nice lens with a fantastic rear lens cap instead.

Wah!!! Steady lah! I suppose this is the one with the cleaning marks that you are letting go?

Anyway, we seem to have drifted away from Leica to Nikon to Canon!!!!!!

Nonsense, comes with 2 free filters! ;p Quick, go back and get them tomorrow, or you prefer picture of Lux vs Cron now? :bsmilie:

:bsmilie: Ask Gommy, the King of UV/IR filters. He has loads of these in all sizes! What he has paid for these filters can easily buy a new M8.2 already...

Show the lux or the cron anyway! We all love Leica Porn!!!!

ENRST LEITZ | LEICA IIIB (Leica F) - 1939

Now.. this is a rangefinder.... manufactured in 1933-1939 by Leica ....

... in order to look thru the viewfinder... one needs to really squint to see properly ... it is quite tiny ...... there's actually two viewfinder .. one to "see" what you are capturing .. another for focusing purposes...... thou there's an external accessories for it ....

.. built like a tank .... ( what do you expect if it was built during the World War) ... u can drop this on your foot .. if u want a bump on your foot that is ....

... the lens could be extended accordingly ....

GF-Leica-III.jpg

...loads of dial ... and obviously ... everything is manual ... setting the aperture ..... the shutter speed....focusing.......and such ... hence the know how of manual photography is crucial here... in order to have a well exposed photo ....

... one interesting aspect of one of the many dials is...... for setting the shutter speed ... if u need to set the shutter to .. say 1/20s .. then u turn the knob to the 20 mark ... and the knob will rotate for 1/20s ... and if u want it to be at 1/200s.. then set it to the 200 mark ... and the knob will then move 1/200s ... i.e. the length of the opening of the shutter ....

... holding this classic ... ( won't say antique ) ... in your hand ... is like holding a piece of history ... or being a part of the history ... hmmm.... I suppose so .... oh well...
