My M2 with Gordy Strap and Summarit 50mm f1.5

Question to all Leica gurus, what special version is this M8

okay... not guru, but i don't think that it's the safari edition. giveaways are the dial and the frame selector. i suspect that this is a standard black m8.2 with the black lacquer stripped off, leaving a rather nice naked steel look to it...

But how come the M8 lettering is not white?
The logo is not red?
Hee hee i am mor einterested in the lens, so pancake, so flat;p

This lens is from a Konica single-use disposable camera, Mini WaiWai, converted to M.

It's like what Benny has which is a Nikkor28mmf3.5 originally on the famed AF600 converted to M by MS Optical. See here.
BTW old man has an AF600.;p

You are correct. Definitely not M8 Safari Edition. Visually different in so many ways. I think you should be the resident guru instead. :bsmilie:

These Konica conversion are quite popular. I've seen about 10 floating around in my last trip. Prices from about US$300 (with finder), but it's an f/8 lens. Available in LTM or M mount.

Cheers,

Highly probable, though if someone wants to take out the white paint from the letters and replace the red Leica dot with a black one, I cannot see why someone would not replace the frame selector (which appears black to me). I thought the color appeared a bit off on my computer, but it may be the actual color. Stranger still to repaint the camera.

cool stuff

It's 46 years young, with a buttery smooth film winder and still works like a dream. Like the "beautiful old Leica camera" that Steve Jobs was talking about.

That is why Leica M3 is so legendary...you have a chrome beauty...even 50 years different, my M3 still crank better than my MP...:D

And it will still be taking pictures many years from now. Long live the M3. :D

analog Leica is alot sexier than digital Leica.
