German Trains, German Camera but Japanese Lens.
Tanar5cmf1.5
Tanar5cmf1.5 is a rather rare lens (less than 500 made). It has 7 elements in 3 groups and uses high refractive index glass.
The diaphragm has fifteen blades, and is perfectly round at all the apertures. (info from camerapedia) It is rather small for a f1.5 lens.
LGB, like Leica is of German origin and is a maker of large scale (G scale) trains. Their trains and rolling stocks are very well made & are replicas of real narrow-gauge Railways in Europe & America. Their trains run both indoor & outdoor & in ALL weather. Unfortunately, unlike Leica, it did not survive the current economic climate. In fact, all the EU train makers did not survive!
This particular model, the STAINZ is my favourite and like lenses, it comes in different variants as well.
