My "other" RF gear ;)

Hey! I have the same set up! Handles real nice, especially with a long strap across the shoulder. Somehow, I prefer the black over the chrome ZIs.

Cheers,

You have the same set up as almost everyone here on clubsnap...

You make me sound so cheap! I still stand by my Voigtlanders even though they are common and not of rare pedegree!

Cheers,

Cheers,

You have foresight... Voigtlander is getting the status of rare pedegree too...

All the discontinued screw mount are becoming hot collectables...

The 35/f2.5 P (type1) LTM (super short focusing throw), 50/f2.5 LTM (ultra high contrast 50mm), 35/f1.7, LTM (fast & sharp wide open 35mm), 28/f1.9 LTM (fastest production RF lens ever), 28/f3.5 LTM (super sharp high contrast 28mm), 75/f2.5 LTM (very sharp portrait lens wide open), 90/f3.5 (very handy telephoto RF lens), 12/f5.6 LTM (widest production rectilinear RF lens), 15/f4.5 LTM (very versatile super wide angle), 21/f4 LTM (low distrotrion wide angle), 25/f4 LTM (super fun lens)... I guess you have at least 2 copies (black & chrome) of each. :)

A question to Chiif and Jon, is there a reason why the 28mm f2 is not prefered over the f3.5 lens?

I wouldn't say one is preferred over the other, but for sure the combination of tiny size and excellent optical quality is the reason the 28mm f3.5 is so popular.

The 28mm f2 is also an excellent lens, but its extra 1 and 2/3 stops of light gathering power results in a lens that is a looooot bigger than the tiny 28mm f3.5. If you want fast AND wide, there aren't many other choice that give you as much bang for your buck as the 28mm f2.

Sorry, Not chiif nor Jon......28f3.5 is one of two Vöigtlander lenses that are made of brass, tiny but solid. Reason why I got it. The other being 50f2.5...But I only keep the chrome version..(unlike benny:))
One other lens, I think 35f1.4 may have a limited black-painted on in brass too...

Haha, what are some of the other choices? Mind sharing? I was reading on a review of this lens and apparently had quite a high feedback on this.

Hi gommy, its my mistake to just quote the 2 of them in this question and thanks for taking the effort to reply me. i heard about the 50mm f2.5 but i never get to see it. I know u are a great collector of CHROME lens! impressive collections!

I probably missed some, but the ones that come to mind are the CV 28mm f/1.9 and Summicron 28mm f/2 ASPH, then if you want to go wider there's the Summilux 24mm f/1.4 ASPH and Summilux 21mm f/1.4 ASPH. Anything with ASPH in its name means BIG $$$

Actually, when the 28/f3.5 was in production, it was my least sellable lens. I had so much difficulty just to sell of my last batch of stock. Somehow after it discontinued, people started to look for it.

Personally, I like it for it's weight and size. Small, but heavy. I like. As for image quality, ALL Voigtlander lenses are good. I can't think of one that is not good. Each has it's own characteristic. When it's in production, people can condemn all they want BUT when they no longer can get it anymore, they sing praises that sound nicer than rhymes and songs...

Benny is smart, he never sells of any of the Voigtlander & Canon RF lenses. Today his collection of lenses can easily buy a bungalow in district 9 Singapore...

So... one word of advise... if you want to get rich... start stocking up CV lenses which are still in production.
