Show us your Japanese Rangefinder gear 2!

MS Optical's latest creation, the Perar Super-Triplet 28mm F4!

Note the thread at the front of the hood. It takes 19mm filters.

Note the recess for 6-bit coding. Unlike Miyazaki-San's previous creations which utilized an LTM-M ring, this lens is a true M-mount lens.

Nice!
19mm - Like the Elmar50f3.5. I have both UVa & UV/IR..hahaha

not much, compared to the rest of the stuff on this thread :D but here's my "new" canon P rangefinder, with a 50mm f1.8 lens. in lovely condition. original leather case, and a lens hood too. cant believe this thing is probably 50 years old!

and with the dead light meter

and with the dead light meter

chances are that if you can find a working hand held selenium meter, extract the cell, cut it to the same size as the one in the canon meter and replace it, you ll be able to get it to work again. i believe selenium cells have a standard response curve and so they only differ based on their size. i ve done this to revive an argus clip on meter and its pretty much spot on.

thanks guys :D yup its real fun. i was thinking of getting a sekonic l-208 or some sort of low-cost hand held meter. i guess i could try to see if this one is fixable too, thanks for the tip

i think a light meter that mounts on the hot-shoe will be better as you won't need to carry extra things.. I got a sekonic L208.... despite the size being compact.. i still find it a pain in the area carrying it sometimes..

i agree.. any meter u would recommend that fits on the hot shoe? preferably something in the same price range, and as accurate. i think the gossen digisix mounts on the hot shoe, but i was checking prices on ebay, it seems much more expensive than the L-208. like USD200+

The Cosina Voigtlander meter will do great. Just pop over to Chiif to ask. (Chiifcameras.com)

the VC meter II looks perfect, but sadly its quite a bit out of my budget.. USD230+, i can get the sekonic for around 100 :( oh well

sorry for using USD in a SG forum :D but im not located in SG at the moment, and have been doing my camera shopping on ebay! so im kinda limited to wat i find on ebay, and its prices. the sekonic L-208 is USD105, which is around SGD130... and the VC meter II at chiif's is SGD280 (same price on ebay too)

my humble canon ltm collection.
took a family shots before i sell away some of them

Is this the miniature? The original had a "Nikkor" label on the lens. :bsmilie:

Nikkor! haha, indeed... this is just the miniature version. Given as freebie as part of Canon's anniversary! :)

Nice and very rare lens!

I'm not 100% sure but I *think* those figures are for the lenses sold through dealers in Germany, and don't include lenses sold elsewhere (Japan etc.) :dunno:

If there really were only 380 silver Sonnar 40/2.8 lenses, I have probably seen about 1/3 of them on shelves in Tokyo camera stores ;)

Thanks Jon! I can't verify the numbers, could very well be just Germany I'm not 100% sure, got the figures from rff... well, one thing I'm absolutely sure is that the black ones are harder to come by compared to the chrome ones!

hmmm, Benny should know a thing or two about this lens!
