Show us images from 135mm L lens

Subjected to user preference, I even find the 135L a little tight on the 5d. maybe spoilt by the option of the 85mmL for portraiture, I use my 135mm mostly as a telephoto of sorts in landscape :P
It actually focuses quite fast on the sluggish 5D system, and a used copy can be had for a good price.

yeah lah..tat is why i said "i feel" mah..

:bsmilie:

used it on the 5D Classic before too..just as good..

love the "whoosh whoosh" sound of the AF motor working..follow by the beep milliseconds later..

hahaha..sound like a 135mm spokesperson..

leaving on a phototrip tonite..still considering to leave it behind or not..

sigh..

My 1st shot with 135mm on 450D. sometimes 1/160s shutter speed isn't enough unless using tripod

135 x 1.6 gives u 216..u need faster than 160 wor if handheld and moving subjects too

Will a 430exII be sufficient to achieve this 2 pics in a runway fashion shoot? I am thinking of getting this lens with that flash. By the way, roughly how far away was this shot taken with the 40D?

no flash was used. Hard to remember how far away, rough guess is 1st shot is around 6person ++ and second 3 person ++ length. 1 Person length = 6 feet.. :)

A pity is that this lens has no IS as it is not what I call 'light' and 135mm focal length requires more sturdy hands or more support in low light situation even though it might be f2.

The bokeh is simply beautiful, especially if I want to do those DIY bokeh shapes, I find it nicer to handle than say 35L. But again it might be due to the size of the hole in the cardboard that I cut.

Looks good, at web sizes you just get a small hint to see how this or the 200/2 "looks" better than a mundane 70-200/2.8. But then these are pretty niche, some may not see it.
Nikkor version can play DC even....staple for the wedding crowd. ;p

But it all depends on the stage lighting... If the spotlight doesn't shine on the model properly at your angle, you'll better have your own speedlite on.

135L only gives you the shutter speed and aperture. You'll still need a flash gun to light up the subject adequately and good handling technique. :)

I always bring this lens... the quality is very good, even on wide open!

You need to beef up your techniques. All your photos are poor shots in terms of IQ and no different from a cheapie zoom lens such as the 75-300mm.

With a 5D Mk2 and 135L, you have to do 5 times better than now.

No offence. But saying otherwise to boost your ego will not help you but impede your learning instead.

Agree on this point. I detect some handshake in the photos shown

Here is my contribution with a 1.4X TC added to it. Shooting with AI Servo.
