Should I switch to X-T1?

previously using d800. im satisfied with the x-t1.

previously using d600 and x100s, happy user of xt1 now! (still keeping my d600 though). Xt1 is a great travel camera.

I'm thinking if I should keep my 6D and buy the x-t1. Just scare the 6D will become white elephant. When do you use your d600? I supposr x-t1 is your dedicated travel camera

Why not keep your 6d for a while having x-t1. If you can do without 6d then sell it.

Read what this user, Steve Huff has to say ..... he is imho unbiased ........ being very frank about what he thinks ............ :)

Not exactly brand biased, but IMO he has unique preferences when it comes to cameras which makes him prefer certain models over others, which may not be applicable for all prospective buyers.

why not?

the main advantage of Fujifilm systems is u dun need to spend so much time to photoshop photos to get correct colors and white balance. Fujifilm systems is very accurate in colors and white balance.

i'm Canon and Fuji now but from my gears are low end (60D + XE1)
I'm happy with my Fuji...as some ppl mentioned in here...OOC JPEG for Fuji is amazing...
I used my XE1 for my reportage photo as well (organization event- not wedding) and i'm happy with it.
My Canon is rarely out from dry box now..hehehe
Just tested before you sell it. (i consider to sell my Canon after testing XT1 in Fuji Funan..so poisoning..huh)

There are times when the d600 performs better (I find the nikon has better (awb) colors in dark conditions) Also I have a good set of primes. The big push to get the xT1 was the 24-70mm f/2.8 is just too heavy. I'm really happy with my d600-50mm pairing..

Yes, the XT1 is a dedicated travel camera, and takes over the x100s. I do travel with the d600 at times for south-east asia travel when my bag is lighter.. Not that its much heavier since I can go single battery easily.

Get the XT1 first, then sell the 6d when you realise the xt1 has taken over your life :P

I *LOVE* fuji colors.. I spent so much time adjusting my nikon raws to fit my OOC fuji jpegs.. BUT, I wouldn't say the fujis are accurate in white balance, especially when compared to the Nikons. I find that on my XT1, the white balance can be confused in indoor situations with multiple flourascent light sources. ALso, in low light conditions, my x100s wb is not stable (shot to shot, the detected WB can shift even when nothing changes)

That being said, fuji out of camera jpgs are great. With wifi, its an excellent travel camera now.

I agree. Although I do like Fuji colors, there are times when it is not able to capture the colors that I see.
One example is this flower at the Botanical Garden. The camera can't reproduce the color of the flower I see regardless of the film simulations.

It is a challenge to reproduce colours faithfully and quite frankly, I wonder if its really necessary or even attainable in most circumstances. The way we perceive changes with the environment i.e. ambient lighting. This is especially so outdoors. Do you think you are seeing the actual colours without prejudice all the time? For me, if it looks good on the photo, its fine. The moment you use a camera to capture an image, you are already manipulating the results with the camera's paremeters, exposure, tonal range, etc. All the more so with film simulating filters.

I think we may have different expectations. There are times when I really like my camera to record something that is close to what I see. It is true that human eye perceives things differently under different conditions (this is more of a global condition). What I'm trying to highlight is that the camera is able to produce pics are pretty close for other colors but not for certain colors.

This one is close and I'm very happy with it.

This one is way off though.

I'm really tempted to get the X-T1, especially after looking at so many gorgeous OOC pics. With the 16-55mm f2.8, the combination is pretty unbeatable. The 10-24mm f4 isn't helping too. Plus it's high time to upgrade from my Nikon D70s :embrass:

My very first DSLR was D70 too, it will definitely be a big lapse for upgrading to any mirrorless apsc camera now. Fujifilm AF Lens selection for apsc csc indeed is one of the best in the market right now.
