You see Pentaxians are all good people. They don't anyhow psycho you to change brand
There is really nothing to prove to your friends about brand. Let your photos do the talking.
If you are already invested in Canon, then just continue to do so.
No point wasting money to switch.
As said, all cameras nowadays are very good, whatever brand.
Canon has a good and cheap 35/1.8; 50/1.8; 85/1.8 which are really value for money and does as much as their more expensive f1.4,f1.2 counterparts.
There is also that nice 135/2 and 70-200/4 L.
So very little reason to change because of price of lenses, as the above mentioned a not too expensive and good.
On the other hand, Pentax is unique in its offerings.
In camera SR which will work on any mounted lens.
Smaller sized lenses and camera bodies for less bulk and encumbrance.
Better featured than its competitors at the same price point.
Ability to use really cheap legacy lenses which are optically as good as any modern ones.
Modern lenses that are small and optically very good and contrasty to rival the competition (usually at cheaper prices)
Fantastic user interface. (preview your WB/picture setting changes; save these changes as a jpg; reset any setting with the press of the 'green button'; TAV mode; etc)

Good UWA from Pentax will be the DA15ltd, DA14, DA12-24, 10-17 fisheye.
The DA15 is a unique lens that no one else has on APS-C. So small for a wide lens.
3rd party options are Sigma 8-16; Sigma 10-20; Tamron 10-24.
