Wow! Stop motion and sure brilliant colors! Going down to MS color next Mon to check it out. Guess its probably the CZ for me. Thanks Guy!

By the way, anyone got the SAL35F14G? Is it as bad as what most review rated it?

I used 135mm f1.8 CZ for outdoor shoots. They works very well, pictures are sharp and bokeh are nice. This was done with A900, with APS-C may be too long or tight.

Despite so, I still use 85mm f1.4 CZ frequently for indoor shoots. Nothing comes close to this lens for portrait in door with available light.

Someone asked about 35mm f1.4. I am a tad disappointed with the lens which seems has 'softness' when comparing with other CZ lenses. However, it's known that G lens are softer. It was the only best option using in small space with APS-C camera, with A900, I use 24-70 more to cover walkabout range coupled with 85mm and 135mm.

As for 70-200G, it's a nice lens to be when you can't move around to get your frame.

Hope it helps.

35G is a great lens when use correctly with bokeh and colours r better than CZ IMO.

Well, I don't have the Sony version of 35mm f1.4 G, but have the first version Minolta 35mm f1.4. In my experience, it is really sharp at f2 but f1.4 is a tad soft, but definately not distractingly soft. Some image works better with those softness.

I love the 35mm looks on A-900, it is not build for sharpness as G is not really sharpness orientation but more so for tonality graduation which makes this an interesting lens.

Prime is the way to go if you are serious about image quality... but nevertheless the f2.8 constant aperture lenses are excellent.

I guess if I can add my previous comment. 35mm G is a specific use or niche lens. I love it with my A700 but find it to use less with A900.
It's wider that I'd need it to be, and perhaps as mentioned f2 would be the best way to go instead of f1.4

At any case, it's still with me and not selling it :)

Wow, you got quite a collection there. Went to MS color just now, tried both the 135STF and 135CZ. Both are great in their own ways, really difficult to chose one over the other. STF focus is actually quite precise...

Already have the SAL50F14 and the 70-210 F4 (aka beercan). Bought the 50mm for portraits but end up using the beercan @ 100-150mm more often (Seems to make my subjects look more flattering). That why I'm thinking about a 135mm prime. Yup, may buy a CZ 85mm eventually, but not so soon.

How much you gotten your 70-200mm for?
I bought at retail price $2999 from sony :) Expensive... LOL!

I had an opportunity last weekend to try out STF during local Alpha gathering. I must say, not easy to use. I am rethinking of my birthday wish for this year...

Hi, I remember Brother sulhan saying stp 135mm is also good but provided the subject is not moving , if not T135;)mm CZ is a better choice , I have tested and proven to be very good.

im always struggling to decide btwn 135 vs 85.. >.< would hav choose 135 if i hav a FF with me..but too bad no new FF from sony... =(

Need not to struggle :) 85mm is best with APS-C bodies, 135mm still usable but you really have stand way back as it is equivalent to 200mm. So depends on your shooting style.

On another comment between 135CZ or 135STF, I heard a comment before which I have not validate. The STF is really nice wide open but when stopped down, it losses it's 'creamy bokeh' gradually. Also it's a manual lens right? so need to have a good eye to see the good focus point more.

Yes agreeable,Firstly, b T135MM CZ and get a cheaper range eg. sony 50mm f 2.8 macro with apcs range is equivalent to 75 - 80mm and it reach the requirement of the eighty mm CZ which i think is far to expensive for the portraits lens Cz 80MM.:embrass:

Hmmm.. you will have extra to consider the sony 70-400mm ssm for wild life shooting lol:bsmilie:

So just get an A900. It's already one of the cheapest full frame bodies, and the CZ 135mm is one of the few lenses that really can do the sensor some justice.

Hahahahahahahah , I m a little bit out of cash lor, unless some party from the groups are selling their little count shutters for a good price, I don't mind having a second sets:D
