Should I buy my Canon 550D body + sigma lens at IT show or retail shop?

dun think u will find sigma lens in the IT show.

anyway dun buy from IT shows unless they give u useful freebies like dry cabinet (expect to pay more cos they dun exactly give u free, its all in the cost).

those cleaners, filters, memory cards (SD memory cards are dirt cheap these days), u can scrap it, no worth paying extra for these useless items (poor material, lousy filter)

Ya quite true. But human are like this when u 1st timer buy the camera u dunno what is good all you look for is the price and the freebie so u will just think that all those thing are expensive and worth. Like me 

1.4k is quite abit off the retail price sia. i got 1 for my cousin at 1199. on well, what done is done, take it as a lesson learnt.

agreed! recce around n you can find amazing prices @ local store (pls do not buy from big names like court, harvey, gaincity, etc)

I learn my lesson. Think should we go to a local shop and have a mass buying for camera lens etc.... Then  they give us more discount

Stop saying about IT show!!! That the only time small or big company clear stock just like Great Singapore Sale. Just as the old say old product dun go, new product dun come. Face the fact that they spend so much money on a small portion of place to show case their product so dun expect too much. What they can do just like market give u one more 100g extra veg. Lol.

Sorry hope you don't mind. Have you considered the Canon EF 17-55mm for your camera? It's a beautiful lens. But it is expensive.

yes, during the 4 days of the IT exhibition, it is a good time to buy from camera shops (see the price guide for list of reputable shops), but not from the exhibition itself.

I would suggest a Tamron 17-50mm non-VC if you budget can allow it.

yup although honestly for most cases. anytime is a good time to buy
from those trusted shops often mentioned here, just do your homework on the rough price for the equip you wanna buy before getting chop.

and another thing which maybe helpful is that the you may find a cheaper deal tmr, but that means its one more day without a camera to shoot. as long as you have the cash and can afford it, do your research and just get from the recommended shop you are most comfortable with. no point waiting for price to drop just to save. sometimes price can rise too! (but rarely la)

What for need to go Q for so long when u only wan to buy body. Quite afew shop is cheaper. Ask around if u are not in hurry. Funan alot shop selling cheap!!!!

Buy during IT Show but from outside retailer, got freebie from manufacturer, like the extra original battery and Crumpler bag from Canon during last IT Show.
