$840 for 14-44mm lens kit

Take note that electronics are only Duty Free for DEPARTURE. If you’re arriving, they’ll still charge you the tax :/

I just purchased the EPL-1 kit (14-42mm) from Cathay Photo for $880.

However, I should have had my folks in Canada mail me one because I could have saved about $250.

Yes they are duty-free, as in import duty free. They are not GST free. Different things.

Duty free shopping at the airport is essentially (for Singaporeans) GST free only. You can frequently get cheaper prices with GST at Cathay and the usual shops. Just lower profit margin or they get better bulk discounts from the agents.
