[ Shopping ] - Price of E-PL1

Some shops have really strong black magic backing them up. People will still buy no matter how badly they are treated by the salesmen just because the prices are a few dollars cheaper.  Then regret after come home and the magic spell wears off. :dunno: :dunno:

now they practice bait and switch also with colour? wahlao... :sweatsm:

Guys and Gals,

I saw a review article in Today paper. Ofcause, the review for E-PL1 is thumbs up. :bsmilie: But at the end of the review, it states RRP $898 for BODY ONLY.

Does this means it will be possible anytime soon for purchase of E-PL1 body only? ;)

Just got a EPL1 black. very solid bugger. Plastic feel mention in reviews are rubbish!!

I also want to know where to purchase body only E-PL1?

I went to CP this afternoon, they sell BO for $850, with kit lens $950, decided to purchase the kit at other shop :D

anyone knows if any shop bundles the EPL1 with the 17mm pancake lens?

I dont think theres such package,
The EPL1 package is either with 14-42mm
or
with 14-42mm + 40-150mm +MMF2.
dont think u can change it cos the info and pictures of the Camera body + lens are shown on the box.

unless the shop sell u a Body alone + 17mm lens separately.

that would be very expensive =(

it is expensive. I'll rather get a E520 and live with the bulk and weight. At least I can compose during bright days with sunlight behind my back. LCD screens are just not cut out for viewing in sunlight. I also get Phase detect autofocus. :)

I just bought a olympus EpL-1 single lens kit from SLR Revolution at 897 including gst. Btw i ask them about the twin lens kit for EpL-1, they are selling at 1207 including gst. I think it's a good buy, but cause of budget constraint, i settled for the single kit instead.

seems like prices are falling fast. wonder why? is it due to nearing launch of G2?

it was 898 and 1240 when i bought from SLR Evo... not much drop if you'd ask me...

i thought best price is from CP 950 with kit lens mah so that's why led to me thinking so fast price drop

I intended to get the EPL1 to replace my PnS and supplement my DSLR for situations where I needed better performance but small body. But what i need is a pancake lens to keep the body small. Hence the ideal package would be an EPL1 body + 17mm f/2.8. Don't think they are selling this package though. Was hoping the price will come down further. You can get a full fletched DSLR Pentax Kx for around $750 with kit lens. If Oly can reduce their kit price to below this benchmark and perhaps around $850 for the 17mm lens set, there would not be any real reason to look at the LX3 ;). Prices of the second hand EP1 has fallen to around $700 body only but lack of internal flash is still the issue. Personally, the EP1 looks nicer. :)

If the Sony rumour is real then Oly shd probably adjust the M4/3 prices. Rumoured to annouce on 11 May 2010.

Only if Sony makes it sleeker and smaller but Sony is known to load them up with lots of uesless features and making it bulky. But I don't think Oly has anything to worry about if you can look at Sony's historical pricing.:)

I got mine at CP Marina Square at $920 plus gave me free tripod (but crappy one). :)

Checked with Paris Silk today and they have it for $920 nett cash ...
