hi TheQuestion
looking at the white shirt the model is wearing, if shooting high key, does it means it is ok to loose the detail of the shirt?
..........
Because based on what you said of Ah V's edit, it just looks like added contrast, that's all.
try to pump up the contrast..you wont get the same effect... must tweak carefully I say
and oh dear... we are still at the 'key' thingy ? :bsmilie:
Like what Virgo said, you must know what you wanna shoot ;p ... I was just visualising whether these pics were meant to be brighter and cleaner .... the shirt details are still there after tweaking ... at least on my monitor
Excellent post Br3ndan.... The 1st photo is the best among the set. THIS IS High Key folks. I dunno what's the basis for the comment "sorry this is not even remotely high key...". Actually, this post is a very very good example of highkey, the details on the highlights is still visible. Thumbs up to you bro.
"High key refers to a large amount of that light being recorded making a very bright photograph typically presented in black and white. I think allot of people have misrepresented high key to mean boosting the levels in photoshop." [Quoted from unknown source by TheQuestion] - hmm...isn't AhV's edit considered boosting levels in photoshop (i.e. pushing the shadows and highlights??)
"now this is high key." - TheQuestion
"AhV tweaked it so it looks more high key. But its not quite there yet coz of one important thing." - TheQuestion
Sounds a little self-contradictory.
Excuse me but you said "now this is high key" did you not?what are you a lawyer? I said it was closer I didn't say it was. I find it hilarious that you're trying to show me up when you've done nothing but try to do that and not show anything FOR YOUR OWN ARGUEMENT about why this is high key in your opinion.
