One of Endau Rompin National Park's beauties to look forward to...... for those heading up there with ButterflyCircle end of the month.

Nice capture, Joe.

This is a female Malayan Eggfly (Hypolimnas anomala anomala). The upperside blue forewings are intended to mimic the male Striped Blue Crow for protection.

Very nice capture Joe, Really nice blueish colours to the BF!

Thanks alot Papilio & inckurei! I'm still a newbie in shooting butts, alot to learn from everyone here :).

Must ask Bluesteel aka Sunny to teach you how to shoot butterflies, he is very good at it! Or you can hop on ButterflyCircle and see if there are any outings available to shoot butterflies.

Just contributing my share........................;)

so, wat's the secret mantra for getting the orange-tip to open its wings?
this fella lands and closes wing with nary an extra flutter, so frustrating!

Kuanwk.

There is no secret mantra, it is a matter of knowing why and when a butterfly open its wings to sun. Also different species of butterflies open their wings under different weather condition and time of the day ---plus a bit of luck and loads of patience on the photog's part.

Remember you have read one of ButterflyCircle thread ? Half the answer was already there.

Thanks Nelson for contributing to the thread .

I admire your steadfastness and patience in the field in stalking these jewels on wings!

Keep them coming!

Cheers!

One more noob shot to share :embrass:.

Joe,

That's a beautiful shot of the Elymnias hypermnestra agina (Common Palmfly).

You were perfectly parallel to the broadside of the BF and had fully utilized the DOF in giving fine details of the BF and the bamboo perch.

Thanks for sharing!

Cheers!

Andy ,

Fabulous shots of the Palm Dart and Yamfly with good DOF and creamy BG to boot!!

To be critical and nit picking ;p, composition wise you could consider giving a bit more space in front of the Palm Dart, and on top for the Yamfly to make them less ""crammed in"".

Thanks for sharing !

Cheers!
