Yes I still use the ipad as a light source. if anyone is interested, I can start a thread on the props and setup using recycled box.

I took dslr scans for proof.... so full-size is only 3000x2000 pixel.

the swirly bokeh

30 mins for scanning is fast. do you still use the ipad setup? any full size sample?

Yes please, that would be helpful for many of us.

For first time, I tried to dslr scan my color negative last night. There's orange cast from the negative and when I inverted it, it became blue cast. Auto color didn't work. Any tips?

I find the colors of New Portra abit dull, or maybe its my scanner. :/
Tempted to try Tikiman's DSLR scanning, but setting up abit tedious... lol

Sharing some of my film shoot as im new for film format.....

I use Fuji color 200 and kodak 200...
I hardly shoot with rokkor f1.2 because the Len is too heavy for me, only use minolta mc 28mm f2.8 and 50mm f1.4.

I encountered the same issue. I was using a bellow system with slide copier to dslr scan my negatives. Even with custom white balance (through the slide copier but without film), I still get a very bluish cast. I had to tune my WB to the lowest at around 3000K to offset the bluish cast after inverting. The colours still doesn't come out that well. I passed the negatives to a friend to scan and they turned out well using his scanner. Any idea what went wrong?
