Same perspective as the sunrise shot earlier on, cropped to 617 for a better composition :(

This is my first attempt using a SLR. Very excited when I got the film developed and today I finally get to see what I had taken in Scotland.

Not the best scan as I use my iPad as a light box and took the shot with my DSLR.

nice shots and colours. power of velvia

ipad as a lightbox?? nice idea and execution!

Hey tikiman, thats a brilliant idea...

I've tried using your method. I used my monitor as the lightbox, and I used a 1:1 macro lens to take a shot of the slide. I must say that I'm quite impressed by the results!

Here are 2 shots..

Notes: do not place ur film on your monitor, you will see the pixels in the photos...

thanks. Started photography with a cropped DSLR. so using a slr @ 35mm is a world of a difference, and I really like it. The developed +ve of velvia is a beauty on its own. Holding the film against a bright window, and the whole film strip comes to life. Only drawback is that scanning and sharing is really tedious. But it helps to train patience and collecting the developed film is like opening present...

yup same problem in my first few scans. then used a translucent plastic over the iPad and it came nice.

here is another scan, cropped 1:3

You started out using film by using an Leica R8?! Wow! ;) I'd love to molest that camera one day if we ever meet!

Amazing shots from Scotland! Sigh... If I wasn't so bogged down with my work, I wouldn't mind taking a good long holiday somewhere just to shoot away.

Shot using FM3A, AIS 50mm f1.2 @ f2 using Kodak Tmax 100

My wife got it for my birthday. Very nice to use. currently looking for a good slr for my M42 CZJ collection. Need at least aperture priority ... anyone recommendations?
