motionstills, nice tubes! What amp/dac is that?

thanks cannedpineapples, it's a DIY pre-amp from parts I got from Martin at Burlington Sq (next to sim lim sq). ;)

Nice! I need to go get some more tubes myself... My 6H30 just blew, heh.

Sorry but i thk the 58 1.2 minolta bokeh is not smooth.

I am still figuring how ones can find joy in trying to manually focus that small m43 camera - which sometimes thrown out of 'balance' by the manual lens!

Good point, certainly a good grip and an EVF is a must have for me.

The joy perhaps is not the manually focusing of it but the result of able to nail your subject by your eye instead of camera's intelligence, the joy of finding old fast gems that would cost a bomb by today standards, not to mention made to last, some of which are older than me. Lenses made yesteryears just have different characters - be it coating, the bokeh, the smoothness of manual focusing, some are smooth wide open, some are tact sharp, some are low contrast, some are high contrast. MF actually helps me to think before I shoot, AF spoils me. Some lenses are also not as big as you may think, it fact can be smaller. The c mounts, pen F, pentax auto110, etc are some that are not unbalanced. Those that are unbalanced so far are really the telephoto (>80mm) prime lenses , a good grip will be very essential. The joy for this perhaps is the onlooker's amazement of seeing a huge lens on a small body, I've had a couple 135mm but not really enjoyed it tbh, some friends I know like it very much though.
Though with the introduction of more m43 AF primes (e.g. 25/1.4, 45/1.8), perhaps the ppl who will use MF lenses will reduce. My 2 cts.
