Wow! I love this shot!

Thanks,

It was a shoot-and-pray-it-turns-out-right kind of shot. I had only time to get one shot off. I am quite amazed that it turned out alright considering this wasn't the fastest of film (exposed it at EI 200).:sweat:

Can someone more technically experienced explain that glow around the woman's body to me? I suspect it is to do with the halation on SHD100 film? It seems to work on this shot, giving it a dreamy look.

First of all... NICE! Perfect capture. And it would be excellent if only you were 9 feet away from them. :) I can even see the shadow of the trees on the wall! Your development timing is :thumbsup:

Yes, the Lucky film doesn't have the anti-halation layer and tends to blow out highlights. Hence the "glow"

That's the reason why I like this film. :)

Excellent timing! :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

I think if I was 9 feet away, they wouldn't be embracing and I might have a black eye.

I am really loving the LuckySHD100 film too. Hail to the Chiif for bringing it in!

Now if only they had a 400ASA film that could push like tri-X, I would be a truly happy snapper... but I heard that Lucky had discontinued production of that? Chiif, any news?

Don't worry... most people would more than welcome photographers these days. Especially if you were a tourist and speaks fluent English. Just give them a smile and say "thank you". And you will be safe.

But in Singapore, it's different. I look too "Sing-ka-porean" everytime I snap at people, they thought I am from the "ga-ver-ment" spying on them and shun away. But if u dress like a "ang-mo" with straw hat or "jit-pun" tourist, most people will excuse you even in heartlanders areas.

Thought of doing a Geylang series where all the bustling activities take place at night... I know I wouldn't walk away as one piece if I do that. :sweat:

Another typical effect of the Lucky film.

I noticed that this film can "push" a little. A number of rolls I over-develop by 1 to 2 min and the result is still fine. I will load in one roll set to 400 and develop by over 1 to 2 min and let you guys know the results.

Yes, SHD100 pushes nicely. I shoot at EI200 with Diafine developing in mind which always gives a push.

But with 400TX, I usually expose at EI1250 which allows me to shoot in daylight at F16 or smaller with fast shutter speeds. With such dof I can afford to set the hyperfocal at something like 2 metres and then just use the RF without focussing for most street photography.

I love the church shot, btw. It's got a "heavenly" halo.
