i always thought needed to use R72 filter. then i spoke to the uncle at ruby. he told me some ppl use ND4 also. end up very confused so i kiv IR ;p

no lah....RED (25A) filter also can...easier for film SLR users compared to R72, where u cannot see anything.

but R72 gives u the nicest effect for HIE for sure

then must go with R72. 1/60 and 1/125 at f/8 sounds ok. i had the impression speeds were much lower than that ;p

im no expert hor.....like they always suggest....BRACKET!!! :D

Sorry, can't help now, still experimenting. Those shots are at ISO 200, 1/30, bracketing between f/5.6 to f/11. Underdeveloped (I just guessed), only a few usable pics.

Went back and re-shot with Polarizer this time + IR filter (after seeing samples of using both on the net), with spot meter now, at ISO 400 this time, still sticking at 1/30, all handheld, didn't want to carry a tripod. Considering a 2-stop loss with polarizer + assumed 2-stop with Leitz IR filter (deep red), bracketed between f/4 and f/5.6. Would love f/8 to f/11, but will need a tripod. Will develop and see ...

I was spot metering for exposing more shadows, so I couldn't use higher speeds ...

Anyway, still experimenting, only way to play with film IR ...

what was your exposure like? i always wanted to try film IR.

Got my Epson R-D1s yesterday. So, went out to fill up a 2GB right after work. These are taken with the CV 21mm f4. Wish I had the Elmarit 21mm f2.8 for more control on the DOF. Anyway, I'm still trying to get myself familiar with the camera. Framing is a bit agak-agak. Now, probably I'll get rid of my Canon gears :bsmilie:

haha...the way you framed these shots, they really looked like postcards! Nice.

But you may want to boost the saturation a little in PS, and then apply a 40%,1,0 sharpening before you post it. ;)

Hi,

Thanks for your complement. My wife and I were driving back to Queenstown after a visit to another town along the lake. It was an overcast day with low clouds and it started to drizzle. As I turned round a corner I saw rays of light penetrating through the clouds illuminating an island in the distance. I stopped my car, grabbed my M8, changed to the 90 AA and snapped several shots. By then it was drizzling and I was wet and cold. I managed to take a few shots with my R8/DMR as well.
