nicely done. what film was that and how are you scanning your shots?

Really like it, will try Superia ... and Zouk ;)

Yeah you should :)
Previously i was quite into trans, think the color's are richer n stuff.. Then my photographer friend kinda scolded me... And i saw his photos... man.. i felt bad... He's advice was something like, yes slides colors are nice n stuff.. but are you really pushing the negs tat you need them... n untill i can get my shots like spot on, then start considering slides... So i guess till i feel that negs aren't working for me no more, i'll switch to slides.. but for now, negs are my primary.. trying the pro400h, fuji press n the CZ CU 800 1600s... :) cheap to process n scan :)

I tend to agree with you. No one believes me but superia 200 and 400 are gems in their own right. 10yrs ago, the superia 400 we had would have been marketed as press400 as a testament to its exclusive use by the press. That said, i must admit that the 400 is a bit grainy when enlarged. Your exposure is great though!

Thanks, I just got some Superia today ... learning many things here at Clubsnap :)

Well, I don't process my color film at the moment myself, which is why I use slides, which gives very little leeway to the labs to screw it up. At any rate, will do so soon, can't go to the lab all the time for colour developing ...

I believe your friend, I think negatives with its wider latitude would give more room for creative photo shots and development.

Yeah you should :)

Another one. Seems like everyone is emphasizing a bit on low light RF shots.

This was a friend's wedding I attended in Kuching with a traditional Iban ceremony of sorts.

Wide open on a 90mm Summicron 1/8 sec.

Must have been a great evening, cool shot :)

Would you know if they'll allow a camera inside the concert hall ? Am supposed to go see Buddy Guy this Friday ... I did see many concert goers with compact cameras (several of them !) but with some policemen inspecting stuff for the lower profile performers at the concert hall, not sure about Buddy Guy who is a headliner.

Beautiful colors! Your pics are small but grainy. Mine are more grainy when full-size. Do you scan yours as small only in the first place ? Those clubs really have very good color spectrums.

.

Thanks.. Your shots are quite good too... Not sure about green casting as i usually do touch up my photos a little in bibble pro...

Yeah... they are quite grainy, think its cause my exposure's are always a little under as its quite hard to meter with strobing club lights. The other one's just plain old poor metering n thus under... So i guess when pushed, the grains start to show quite a bit. For those correctly exposed ones, they mostly are fine...

I get them scanned at the lab when sent for processing. Think my lab's using a minolta konica machine. Not the usual noritsu ones.

Actually i only go a few places... And i have some prefences, for eg, MOS has nice blue lights, zouk- usually red. Phuture at zouk has this really nice big led screen that throws out really sweet colors...

here's an example, don't think it fits here cause its shot with a digital, but its a ricoh grd.. so i dunno..

Will try to visit the Joo Chiat clubs again, should be great to capture the women dancing on the bar tops with various lights (if I can fend off the women who will snuggle next to me ).

And thanks, I just got my first Superia out, ASA 1600 version, and the colors are cool, these Superia really are close to crossover colors. Definitely does not have the high color fidelity, sharpness, and texture of slides; but, Superia is funky, gritty (when larger), and fun colors, with a slightly green cast - love it. Will try ASA 800 and 400 now, and can't wait to try these on the Yashica.

*some snapshots inside the house ...
