Another test shot at f1.5 on the Zeiss Sonnar C.

Not tack sharp but I really like the dreamy look. What scores well is the micro contrast of the Zeiss. Really stands out compared with Cosina Voigtlanders.

some great photos on this thread.

But, could I make a request? For those posting from flickr, could you select the Medium Sized image and post it? The viewing on a smaller screen becomes very difficult with the large images. thanks. :)

Yashica Minister III, Ilford XP2 Super; don't remember the aperture and shutter speed, but probably 1/60s, f4 or f5.6.

Promised to show more shots in my thread on the Yashica but thought to post here instead.

Can see more shots from this camera on my Flickr account.

just sharing some of my newbie shots :embrass:

Everyone starts somewhere. :)

I like the shot of the beach where you used a low shutter speed to have that misty effect. But I can't help but think that it would look nicer in B&W...

Some shots I took last Saturday with Tri-X.

This is not just a posting of an RF photo. I'm puzzled at how a night scene with the moon turned out looking like it was day light? Can anyone shed some light for me :)

Hey, I think you held the shutter open too long. It looks very overexposed to me.

Oops, I should have given more info first. It's a hand held shot and my lens could only go up to f/1.4, and film pushed from EI400 to 800. I believe I took it at around f/1.4 and either 1/15s or 1/8s because that's the best I can do with my hands. I'll try post another similar evening shot later.

Hi,

Hope you don't mind me asking here, but what could cause the large orange streak in the photo on the left? Is it flare? I have a UV filter on.

This effect wasn't noticeable on my previous B&W rolls. It doesn't appear every time either. The photo on the right was taken a few minutes and about 100 meters away. This is my first roll of colour film with the Yashica Minster III.

The orange flare most likely comes from a light leak somewhere on your camera. Check your negs to see whether there is the same effect. Then try to spot where is the hole located and patch it up.

Light leak? Won't it show up on every frame then?

There's a blue streak on my negatives where the orange appears in this photo and others.

Have just collected my 1st 2 rolls of BnW shots, have been practising how to framing and focusing, still need alot of practise, practise and practise. Some how all my shots got the tenancy to be under-exposured and i have oreadi adjusted it for +0.3 for exposures.

Flims used > China's Lucky BnW Neg. ISO 100

Here some of shots for sharing. All pics are scanned direct from Neg, nothing is adjusted beside compressed it.
