Yes, much better! Still not quite as sharp but I think it's more handshake than focus off:)
Feel much better as this lens is mighty sharp on my M8. It was this particular copy, my first Fujinon, that I ventured on to get my second, 10cmf2. And the decision to buy 10cmf2 was based on the one photo that I requested the seller to send to me taken wide-open at f2

Fujinon 50 f2 at 100% crop shot wide open approx 1/160, usual PP done, color balance, levels, Yup CK was right mighty sharp at f2 (dont worry doc, wont lose your face):bsmilie:

Very sharp and great bokeh even at f2!!! Drool...

Hi Dave, yeah you can even see the stray strand of hair at bottom right, the resolving power of this lens is quite nice, the bokeh is very controlled....thought you like swirly whirlies?:bsmilie:

Yah man... The bokeh is those controlled and creamy type. It still got its own signature which appeals to me.

Dave your topcor is rumored to be very similar (CK correct me if I am wrong), very highly regarded....post some minimum focussing distance and wide open shots leh....

It's not about losing face but this lens ought to be sharp. One of my all time favorite. So have to buy this lens back which I did.
Fujinon & Topcor are highly regarded in their motherland. They are very good!

So touching... Hehehe! Sir Dan, keep the family together and they will last you for generations. Doc has spent lots of time n sweat and perhaps sleepless nites accumulating this family. Treasure it bro.

Boss, hows this lens compared to the latest 50mm cron???

eh dont call me "boss" leh....boss is hacker, gommy, benny and hookonclassic, I just their "mah chai" (horseman in cantonese)... I dont have the latest cron so I cant answer your question, I do have the rigid and DR tho, I'll post some side by sides later, I would venture to say that the resolving power is better in the cron but the bokeh is better in the fujinon. I dont think the average user would notice the difference in the sharpness but will notice the bokeh
