I like the photo so much.

were you using an external meter or camera meter? if camera meter, it is centre weighted (spare the technical details)... the white gown can "fool" the camera to thinking that it is brighter than it actually is, and would therefore shoot at a faster shutter speed. but this would typically result in the gown being pretty well metered, while the face and others are left a little underexposed.

to compensate, if you know that the gown takes up a large part of the frame (esp the centre), is to -0.5EV to -1EV, so that the camera would then slow the shutter speed a little to hopefully get the face etc well metered.

confused?

Ah! I see! yea, it was the camera doing the metering! Now that was informative, will take note of that in future! Thanks!

Royale. , Sun I free..

Can dodge or burn ???? I dunno how to so must let the other masters here teach abit..

Nice shot but a bit under :) You lose details near the leg of the groom's suit heh

Ah see that another bro has done the tech discussion part of it :)

Yep, the info from cactus jack was good.

Maybe for this one the picture kinda small, here is a bigger one:

In this example, one would need to compensate by increasing (+), not decreasing (-) the exposure. Setting exposure compensation at -.5EV to -1EV would result in an even faster shutter speed and greater underexposure.

thanks.

i think a lot of the shots were more blur than i expected, and i took the effort to handhold properly too. but i think i don't really hold it properly, being used to slr type of grip.. plus it wasn't in bad light.. so just use slr first, one day when i start work, got money, then buy it back again.

i agree it's a beautiful cam, so compact and nice to use <3

Sharing some shots from recent travels at the behest of Benny:
Hong Kong sunset taken from North Point; shot through the window so it's less than satisfactory.

Taipei intersection; taken with the Elmarit 28mm. This lens is sharp, and the cars look like toys.
