Due to some requests from RF.SG members, we have done some 35mm & 40mm lens bokeh test shots from f1.4 to f5.6. Due to the amount of images, we will only post the widest open aperture of the lenses here.

We regret that we did not include many others 35mm or 40mm lenses in this test done impromptu.

All shots are taken with a M9 mounted on tripod set on 2s timer without any filter or lens hood mounted. ISO is set on 160, white balance manually set. Exposure is set on Auto. Subject of focus is set at 1 meter distance from the camera.

Thanks bro for posting!

Is this lens for sale? :bsmilie:

Wow.. thanks for the shots!

Can't help but tell the Summicron bokeh doesn't vary much though.

Agreed, thats why i think bokeh king is over rated and overpriced :bsmilie:
Ended up getting the cron asph for me.
V2 cron without goggles was also nice but more exp.

Too bad, unless we can show the picture in 100% crop, it is difficult to differentiate in web view. Please bear it in mind.

I have notice that the background bokeh is in fact too far to create lens bokeh differentiation in this impromptu 35mm lenses test shots.

From the 100% crop view, I notice that Type IV summicron has higher resolution at the center but with much smaller high resolution center radius...;)

Juz for fun, which lens shot this?

Please refer to my comments above. We regret that the images and test arrangement are not good enough to allow web user to greatly differentiate the minute differences unless view 100% crop.:(

The point is: it is from one of the shots which you have posted above.

Anyway...

After this lens test shots along with 50mm Sonnar lenses, we can confirm that 35mm focal lens bokeh in this subject distance and background distance setting are unlike 50mm focal lens bokeh so distinctive...:D

I still can't see the differences in the bokeh. Or is it to do with the lighting? The Summicron IV seems a little sharper than the III, assuming all things equal.
