The shots at the Creek were with a 55mm f2.8 and 150mm f3.5 on a Mamiya AFD II on Aptus 65S MFDB, between ISO 200 and 400. The one Azurri said was emotive was shot on a 210mm f4 on the same setup

645 AFD II, Aptus 65S MFDB. I thought so as there is significantly no noise (not like from a film scan).

You get excellent sharpness. I understand that there can be a sharpness issues with Aptus at higher ASA settings.

Well done!

Thanks!

There is quite a bit of noise at ISO400, but I have spent some time working on output sharpening and noise reduction (more like noise management), to get a more film-like grain. Compared to my D3s, the 65S is very noisy and limited to being particularly effective with flash photography where lighting is controlled.

let me know if you want a 100% JPG of any of the shots, and I will send it to you unprocessed, so you can see what the noise profile is like :)

Very nice! What ISO was this film? 100? Very well controlled, the detail in the wick is good, considering that temples aren't usually the best-lit places

Wow, that will be an eye opener. Please email me thru default email link please.

The first time I tried was setting with ASA400 and it was a disaster. At lower ASA I found the whole system difficult to work with.
After fiddling for a while, it was beyond my ability to obtain a good result, so I gave up.

Nikon's strong point all these years is flash photography and mixed light handling. The firmware is very advanced.

Incidentally, I shot the temple shot using a Nikon F5 with the 50 1.4 as metering. That was a good many years ago, on Velvia. Ha ha.

Thank you very much for sharing. The file is giving us an in depth revelation here.
This digital back has very wide dynamic ranges (12 F stops?) Is this the default or custom profile?

The amount of work, skills involved will be another lesson to tell.

Yes, the Aptus 65S has 12 f-stops of DR. I could have shot that clearer, but MF is very unforgiving for someone like me who is accustomed to DSLRs. Also, being my first time out, I forgot to ensure that I had AF set to 'S' instead of 'C', so some focus was lost during recomposition.

Here's a better file with some sharpening and clarity tweaks, based on the droid pic, done in CaptureOne

Stunning work on the composition and development!!

I would have shot with the model closer towards the right of the frame. But excellent exposure, and great choice of film!

Also loving the 4x5 landscape from mamypoko
