Pine trees. One of the four wonders of Huangshan, China.

Cannot remember the setup for this. But am quite sure it was on either orange or red filter.

Thanks for your tips, esp on the scanning part.:)

I was just trying out on the folder camera after leaving it in the dry cab for a few years and wasn't sure if my full manual photography skills could be trusted. So I thought to just ask them print out for easy viewing. I do have a old scanner (Canon 5000F) lying around at home and I thought I could use it to scan the film later. But I later find that it can only do 35mm film scanning and not 120mm films. Furthermore, my labtop and it seems not communicating after hours of trying, so I just took some snap shots of the prints using my S90.
Btw, last time when I use that scanner to scan 35mm films, I always find that the colors are not the same as I see on prints. Always have to do a lot of correction and yet could not get it to be exactly the same. Also have no idea if my monitor is calibrated nor do I have the knowledge to calibrate it. Well, I was only fooling around and experimenting.:sweat:

I envy you. 天下第一奇山 you have shot using the 60mm T*.

Why not create a Flicker album and tell us a story.

Once you completed the compilation, would you consider making into a coffee table book?
I will buy one from you. : )

I started with HP Photosmart with the 135 film and slides. Scanning speed was super slow, producing TIFF and computer was something like 486....
One of my computer crashed and I lost all my old 135 slides scan. I ditched my Photosmart. I hated myself because I done all the backup on HP TAPE, and I can't find a tape reader.

Later came the Mustek (hurray 120 scan). But dust, slow scan, post processing, all killed me. I kept it for a few months and fungus developed on the scanner!
It was an air conditioned room!

When I returned from US lately, took out the negatives from my dry boxes, and i was shocked to discover the slow aging of film. Yes I know I am getting old too. I sent all my negatives to Konota and another shop as asked for scanning of ALL my film That came out to be over S$1700 each. And that was a batch discounted price. One of them is here, showing my kiddy in 1997 with a project I completed. You can see the aged film fresh from the lab scan.

This is the lab scan of the film of the same kiddy now with hands longer for money.

Rollei Zeiss Planar HFT 80mm 2.8 Kodak 160 Porta

I still rely on the lab for scanning. I know it cost money, but for results i let them do it. Afterall, I just drop and collect 1-2 days later.
I wish I have the time to play around with scanners. But I don't even know which one to buy now.

Ya...one more thing about my scanner is that I also find fungus on the inside of the glass. Dunno can open it up to clean or not.

A bit tough because I was more tourist than photographer during my trip. But I'll try and this thread will be one of the first to know when it's out. thanks!

http://mamiyafoto.wordpress.com Some of my photos taken with the Mamiya Universal. Had a great time at the Tanjong Pagar Railway

Just saw your updates Railway Blues Posted on July 14, 2011 nice ones!

http://mamiyafoto.wordpress.com/

We walked from Tanjong Pagar Station on Saturday morning 9am. (there was a way to get in!)
By the time I reached Bukit Timah station, it was already Saturday 4pm afternoon. The whole rail tack was loaded with tonnes of people!

I was already half dead, but I expended 4 rolls of Velvia there. All shot with Seagull, fully open F3.5 1/300.
Unlike your Mamiya press, I now have to wait for the E6 processing, and also the scanning.

Did you went further up and take the rail diving junctions. The section which splits into two parallel rails is nice.
Do you have more pictures?

And we shot a few kids and youths doing planking. Don't know how it turns out. Waiting anxiously.

First time loading 120 film into the steel reel was traumatic

Nice shot with the Rollei.
Looks like your kid has the same hobby as you have :)

Thanks :) .

Yeah, baby now is Ah Boy.
Eats more than me, and looks at girls more than me.
Now have to prevent his long hands from molesting my Rolleis.

Your turn will come soon :)

I love wide open Shots!

Try the Paterson plastic reel. Left right hand alternate clicking and film goes in nicely.

Two shots done in end 1999.
Lab scan done recently.

One picture in winter, Korea, 2001. Very cold at about -5C.
The Korean government just tore down the Japanese Governor Building, which block the palace right at he gate.

The negative showed significant aging. Click on image to see the intricate details.

Another angle of the palace.
Sky shows film aging and increased graininess.
