beanokim, thanks for sharing all the wonderful scenic shots...can compile into a National Geographic photography book...agreed Velvia 50 is color magical...:)

I used a 205FCC, 40mm for most of my shots, and 180mm for the 3rd image. Velvia 50 in my opinion is the magic ingredient. I try to keep the red rocks to between zones 4 to 5. The deep blue skies however is what I look for the most and thus try not to have the sky any brighter than zone 7. Zones 8 and above would render a very pale blue with Velvia. It needs to be no more than zone 7 to get that deep "cheating" blue. Shutter speeds were all no slower than 1/60 as I handhold. A tripod is too cumbersome.

agree on the magic of velvia 50 but you really brought the best out of the film. wonder images again and thanks for sharing :)

beanokim, your shots are absolutely breathtaking!!!

Thank you all for your encouraging comments. I was fortunate enough to be able to travel to these places. They are beautiful enough as it is, all you have to do is point the camera and click. Not much else needed.

On the subject of the magic of Velvia 50, here's a example of the exact same scene taken within 2 mins of each other. The first on Velvia 50 and the second with my Leica D-Lux 4. I always shoot the same scene with my little back up digital just in case... While there's absolutely nothing wrong with the image from the D-Lux 4, it just doesn't "feel" as nice, if you know what I mean. I just hope enough of us continue to shoot E6 120 to keep it alive here in Singapore. I've read that we have lost the capability to process 4x5 E6 locally. What a shame.

I hope I am not offending any digital users and am not trying to start a digital vs film debate. Just sharing some images. I am sure Peter's H3D would give wonderful results. :)

i like them both!.. both convey vastly different moods though..

Golden Gate Bridge...such a magnetic construction...perhaps because its famous, perhaps the bridge itself is an attraction. But everyone who visits San Francisco is obligated to visit. I rather like the bridge...don't you?

More (and larger) pics of the bridge at my blog as usual:

Lovely, how the digital sensor resolves the clouds in this picture!
Did you go all the way to the base of the bridge to shoot as well?
