Thanks, Will ...

Here's another sample application, Hasselblad 503, 180mm, Ilford Delta 400. Too dark even at 1/30 handheld, so used a Metz flash + Hasselblad SCA-390 Metz flash adapter. Missed one eye, though ::think:, should have used a Polaroid to test.

And one with just soft sunlight streaming through a window, with Fuji ISO 400 slide, 80mm. Light can be tricky sometimes.

Flip, this is interesting.

Did you deliberately under-expose to get an austere and mysterious feel to what looks like a shot of pews in a church or cathedrial?

it was the slowest shutter speed i could handheld for the shot honestly cos the place is pretty dark and i was using iso 100 film. didn't bring the prism viewer so i guesstimate the exposure. :bsmilie:

yo man. this is that roll which you accidentally underexposed I think. You had marked it as being exposed at ISO 400. not bad there are some details still. I think I used Xtol for this.

You managed to handhold it steady!

I would have pushed the devp a little though, or heat up the devp a bit. :bsmilie:

Hey Nordleadx, it's great to see you here! Long time no chat man! :)

Since I'm new in this section, I would like to share one shot I have taken on HP5 in 6x7 rollfilm back so dunno if welcome here or not. I previously posted on the landscapes section, but thought it would be a good share share here mah! :bsmilie: Sorry, Singapore no misty bogs or foregrounds so this shot no mist.

First roll of film after donkey decades and trying the zone system. Only one shot came out good.

HP5 brewed in Perceptol at 24 deg for 7.5 mins, scanned in 24-bit colour med res.

ah! this is with that new camera I keep hearing about eh... :) nice tones on the Perceptol, I could never get my head around that developer.

Hi Alucard.

Just a good ole fashioned light-tight box. :bsmilie:

Who did you hear it from? Did Flip spill the beans? :bsmilie:

Is Perceptol difficult to handle? First time I'm using it. While I was at Ruby agonizing over what to get, I overheard some guys saying that they prefer their Perceptol shaken, and not stirred. They say it tastes 'smoother'. I guess they had one too many. Perceptols that is. :bsmilie:

Are you still using the Canon 50/1.5LTM? Have you ever tried the Serenas? I wonder what photos from them look like.

Nope, we have common shooting partner. his name starts with a M and he is slightly mad. ;)

light-tight-box? from what I hear it is beast.

Perceptol slows down film speed, not recommended if you are shooting at box speed. I use Xtol these days with my own "spiked" method. I add a 1+100 rodinal into the mix for the last 3 minutes. I seem to get better acutance while maintaining the smoothness of the Xtol grain. still experimenting for the perfect developer. :)

yeah, still use the Canon, but I have been seduced by the performance of the Nikkor. It beats Canon in terms of wide open performance. But the contrast is slightly higher.

Hmm ... I have two shooting partners with names or nick starting with 'M', and yes, they're both slightly mad , except one shoots film more these days, and the other still shoots predominantly digital.

I try not to talk about equipment per se. A camera's a light-tight box to me, nothing more, nothing less. As for lenses ... mabbie. Hehehe. But at the end of the day, they're just tools.

Interesting ... self-brewed cocktails! Hmm, I wonder how many others are doing their own wet-work seriously? It would be good to hook-up and build a chemistry data-base.

Some manufacturers' lenses tend to have more contrast. Looks impressive, but contrast can sometimes cost in terms of lower shadow detail.

I heard a few people talking about me

OOU!

Would this have been better in a landscape orientation? :sweatsm: :bsmilie:
