Hey Nikkornos, to be honest the CF model is really quite like a giant Holga. Flimsy and plastiky, but it does the job. I'm probably looking to upgrade to a Chamonix in the near future.
Ilfosol 1:100 stand developed for 1 hr, with agitation at the 30 min mark. I should probably invert the tank next time as i'm seeing some trace of Bromide drag this time round.
Scan was done using Epson scan (i usually use Vuescan but i'm too lazy to install it on my other laptop). Details are mostly there, just that i added the sepia tone via Silver efex pro and played around with the curves alittle. Most of the editing was done to get rid of dust.

Nice sharing merelyok!

If you are after a positive feel on the movements, then Chamonix may not be your cup of tea. The price is also on the high side.
The Shanghai Shenhao PTB 45 is very close to the one LKKAng is using zone IV. USD$300 cheaper and faster delivery. Pretty tempting.
Shanghai ShenHao Professional Camera Co., Ltd.

I also experienced Bromide drag on 3 film. Uneven density over the film area.
Initially i though it was the expired Fuji Acros. One of the film had injuries which I cannot explain.
I am using HC110 solution H (9.6ml HC110 per 300ml distilled water 20C). I do presoak 3min.
Then I thought it could be the scanning, as i use DSLR to photo off the vertical light box.

I suppose you would need more initial agaitation 1 per 30 seconds to get rid of bromide drag (?!)

i think you are referring to another Shenhao model, probably the HZX45-IIA. the PTB45 is very similar to the Chamnoix 45n2 design including the need to unscrew the front standard when folding. There isn't back rise on PTB45. what price were u quoted for the PTB45?

Hmmm. The Shen Hao's are def. interesting but their wide range of 4x5 models are rather confusing. If one were to go for a standard folding model with nominal movements, which model would you Shifus recommend?

i saw shenhao catalogue at losheng office.. this guy is really king of cameras... let's see if he is free to come here to answer..haha..

shenhao is nice ... in fact one model got adequate movements said one article... more than one model of Toyo.. but i lost the article

let start another thread talking abt made in china cams.

Just to Clarify that I don't have any ill comment for Charmonix. The waiting list is very long and still more are ordering daily.
I have used it once and the quality on precision finishing are better than Shenhao.
The design of Charnonix is LIGHT as main aim, so no comparison. It is like the Toyo 45CF (alloy plastic) compared with the old Toyo 45 A (Steel).

Master B, which flower shop or botany you go?

I may become your neighbor soon. Serious, moving house to Punggol water way.... in progress. :)

I brought this sun flower from the basement flower shop at compass point. Cost me $4.5

This is the 3rd day after purchase and the flower is decaying fast, so I quickly setup the camera and took a shot to preserve its glory :)
This is a home studio shot, 3 x 60W bulb from LEFT, 1 x LED light from REAR to bring out the fur on the leaves and stem.
black cardboard and some basic silver reflector to ensure that the GREEN is still visible.

If you can come to ShengKang area, we can meet up and shoot.

I also have some sea shells to shoot. :)

sounds good for weekends. Will pay a visit to you when free and see your sea shells:bsmilie:

trying to shoot the Lion on Saturday morning, but was caught in the rain...
nevertheless, hiding under the shelter and took this shot

There were clouds passing through the buildings and that was the main reason for the shot, but...
shutter was too long and did not capture the moving clouds properly... :(

What would be an otherwise plain, uninteresting picture on a fixed lens camera, turns out to be magical on LF.

Well done!

You're too kind sir! I much prefer the slower approach to LF..
