SGTrekker's Photos from 6D5N Central Vietnam Photography Tour (10-15 Feb 2012)

Hoi An Market

I like the 12mm. I love the perspective effect of 12mm. I particularly like it especially when I use f/8 and be there.

I shot the sunburst by accident. Don't know can make it or not?

Very nice wide angle shots (very poisonous too!)

For me, 1st reason is the model (timing and near to the noon) and
2nd reason there are just many potrait master around;
so I also took few shots then (later you will see, there is a 3rd model (beside Tao) who complied to all our requests! )

Following up on the story of waiting for the model to arrive. The model finally arrived but was late by an hour if I remember correctly. That why the group raided the shops for T-shirts and the shop did a killing on us..on the price$ I mean, by the little girl manning the shop.
Guessed we did'nt bargain hard enough.

:dunno: Thanks, Lim WH.
This photo is for yr partner.

Nihao11, that's why in my previous post, I mentioned about our very own 3rd in-house model who complied to all our requests- became our model under scorching sunlight, riding bicycle while holding umbrella.

Some recaps for sunset shots.

It's not easy to become trip organiser. Melvin was helping to pull the boat to shore.

Below are some shots of the model + the model's manager

Thanks LimWH and Serene. I think U would also like this. Photo showing how happy are the shooters after they have completed their round!

After visiting Hoi An ancient town, we moved on to visit the Marble Mountain. Along the way, you will see many marble sculpture shops.
Most of the sculptures were larger than man-size e.g Fu Lu Shou shown below. The marbles reckon to be quarried from the hills surrounding the area.
At the foot of the mountain, one can see the grand view of the Pagoda. Going up this so called 'marble mountain' is an easy task as in modern days, they provide lift for tourist like us and U just pay a little extra.

I always like shots of our own people doing things while on trip.
And I think you have capture very nicely the moment when Melvin was trying to single-handedly pull the boat ashore!

Moved on to discover another cave. Outside view of the entrance to this smaller cave. This cave is a little more challenging, in terms of climbing up, let see inside..

Haha, sorry for appearing in your frame :)

We continued our journey to Danang, one of the major port city. It is third largest city, located on the South China Sea coast, midway between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Danang is known for its Sa Huynh (Yellow Sand) culture and the remains of the Cham Empire.

Day 1: Arriving in Ho Chi Minh City...

"Ok Guys, we are going to walk from the International Airport to the Domestic Airport for our inter-connecting flight to Hue in an hour's time," instructed Adrian.
"Please make sure you change your trolley from the International trolley to the Domestic trolley when you move over."

This is funny.

The Smiles of Hue

The spontaneity of the people impressed us.
The readiness of the people to smile surprised us.

This modern-looking pretty lady was buying something with her friends. She caught sight of me shooting them, and she turned and gave me a mega-watt smile that melted my heart.
Hmmm... maybe it's the magic of the small small toy-like camera...

This young girl was buying conical hats.
We lowered ourselves and smiled at her. She couldn't understand a word of English.
But a smile was all a photographer needs to send the message across: "Can I take a shot of you?"

[M6TTL with Summlux 35mm V1 on Kodak Trix 400 film]

This store owner was sitting relaxly when a passing-by traveller (me) squat down and took her by surprise.
But the surprise turned into a nice smile.

Now this stall-keeper was even more impressive. I gave her a big smile and took a shot of her. She in-turned broke her what appeared to be po-piah and offered me half of it!
Such hospitality! Simply unbelievable.

[M6TTL with Summlux 35mm V1 on Kodak Trix 400 film]

Not only are the Vietnamese womenfolks spontaneous in their smiles, the menfolks are just as friendly.

I heard that Hue girls are beautiful...
