Jeremy, goes with what you wanna capture of the fireworks..
usually we open the shutter during the initial round fired, then close when the fireworks "boom" open...try a few more times and you will get the "feeling" right..
As for f what..the previous weekend we were playing around on top of shaw towers and discovered that the picture should be around 1-2 stop under without the fireworks at around 4 sec shutter...thereafter the picture should turn out well with the fireworks
