okie.. DAT, i din know...

Slow? Hmm ... slow as in focus lock? Or just writing RAW files? ... interesting ... didn't know that
the AF performace is roughly similar to F80. wat most people dun like is the slow read/write speeds of fuji RAW, the burst rate and the huge RAW file size. the huge file size came abt cos of the amt of info captured by the fuji SuperCCD sensor. u can read abt it in all reviews.
then again, as most fuji users will say, they use fuji cams to shoot jpgs. also, s2/s3 are highly specialised cameras - their target audience are wedding and portrait shooters, mainly. so, judging from wat u shoot, i say fuji cams might not be suitable.
Its not that i looks nice, i'm after the image quality. I don't mind the weight, that's the thing. Found limitations when shooting indoors already (quite a few times) .. and a few situation where my "C" lens hunt like mad... quite sick of all this nonsense...
well, then u have to ask urself (a) is there a current work-around ur present equipment 'limitations' - ie, any way to stretch ur dollar on ur current equipment, and (b) is 70-200/f2.8L the best option/value-for-money? do u need the 'image quality', and for wat purposes - personal? commercial? etc..
look at me. i also wanted image quality, and went off to get the f4L. oh yeah. it delivered alrite. the images produced (all things being equaled) worth every penny dat i paid for it (2nd-hand). after a while, i realised dat i shot more often with my tokina 28-80/f2.8, which while not as sexy or prominent as the f4L, was far easier to use and carry ard. and, most imptly, still produce reasonably acceptable images dat i want (tho, of course, not as nice as f4L lah. u do get wat u paid for). i dun earn a cent from my hobby. so, after a while, i figured i was actually wasting a fair bit of $ on getting the f4L.
even now, i have the 80-200/f2.8. even since getting it, i can count on 1 hand the times i actually used it. i still find myself using my tokina 28-80 more often. (which is why, despite the best efforts of Mr BBB, i'm NOT getting the VR :sticktong ).
so, think abt it b4 plonking hard-earned cash on it.
