later got to clone disk image from old 40gb to new 80gb..

Cannot, FAT32 only supports up to 40GB, windoze is set to format >40GB as NTFS.
I use my Mac to format anything >40GB to FAT32, alternatively, reboot into Win98SE with USB support, then pray you don't format the wrong HDD using "format <drive letter>:"
It's simple lah, get a Mac. Or either that, find one that has one. :bsmilie:
