I want to organise my directory. So, if I want to write a customised web loader... what language is it based on...cuz I'm confused how to link the server's and local executable file

most servers support ASP & PHP so extensions for scripts are file.asp & file.php
cold fusion is proprietory so it is very hard to find a webhost that supports it.

nvr mind...juz wanted to create something like those local preprocessor for dynamic gallery... guess I'll continue to read up on such.

I'll juz focus on flash for the moment then... can't do the same standard as Ling... so trying this simple one first. Simpleviewer.... if dun mind the minor traces to their site... then it's easy to use... simple and nice too. :thumbsup: :thumbsup:

I also thinking of using Simpleviewer but then...ppl who dun have Flash will need to download before they can view. The Java script style that Don did also very nice. Flash or Java script :dunno: ANYWAY dun know how to do either one :bsmilie:

it all depends on your webhost. usually i use ftp to do most of the thing other than configuring those error pages like 404.shtml, 400.shtml

its only a .swf file, you can use also.

and if i'm not wrong, the priority of index.xxxx are in these order:
index.htm
index.html
index.asp
index.php
if your folder contains any of these files, they will be be used in this priority, but still customisable by your webhost.

Yup... going for PHP next....

but need to settle actionscript and XML first...minimum to get my simple gallery up :sweat:

yeah loh... that's why I'm asking about loading folders and how to automate the thumbnail creation.... tyring to automate the whole process for the flash gallery to be dynamically updated and linked.

the only way i can think of is, embed the flash gallery script in .php and use php to generate the thumbnails.
as for the folder thing, no choice you have to put the script in each folder.
