How? Can improvise? I can't even use a bounce card if the flash is tilted veritically :(
I do have a suggestion. but not sure if it will work.

Use a ball head to mount the flash! :bsmilie: ;p
but I don't have any ballhead, so I can't test it out.

u folks are sooooo evil.... :embrass:

but I see all flash brackets also like that when shoot in portrait orientation.
only this one:

stroboframe-ani.gif

 This looks good too....

no matter how I see, the only way is to move the camera but not the flash...

I have a ballhead, but I'm not going to lug a M10 around when I need to use the bracket!!! Drudkh :kok:

I suggested mounting the flash on a ballhead. but alignment might be out.

still can adjust to the optimum height. won't be too high la.

got meh? can't remember... so many SEEDs. :(

There are 2 common types of flash bracket... the flash flip (the one on your MO) and the other ... camera flip (the second pic which is ideal -for tripod mounted camera)

For stroboframe camera flip it's too "short" to accomodate a cam+grip, the base plate is also very big and hinders the use of vertical grip shutter as seen from the animation... best go CP to see for yourselves.

Newton design is good except it's not easy to hand hold as there's a tripod mount jutting out from the bottom.

For Geno: the below pic is the camers flip that uses 2 "L" elbow for the cam rotation... can you duplicate it?

If anyone know a good welder... then the best solution is to get the stroboframe's camera flip and "extend" it for use like Don's modification.

the best is not to use any frame! haha

the frame is a nice-to-have. but, its the extra weight and bulk dat makes me hesitate. i've seen camedia used a strobo on our shoot last mth. not bad. no hard shadows and nice catchlights.

it's not only nice to have, but good to have...especially when you want to avoid ugly shadows.

nope. there are ways ard it. a lumiquest softbox, for example, really helps. tho, u need to bump up the flash power by 1/3 - 1 stop.
