scud said:he is using 20D, so can use AEB (exposure bracketing), set to eg +/-1.5, so when u shoot, you will get 3 photos with exposure compensation of [-1.5,0,+1.5]. then use layers in PS to get the correct blending.

this i know.Ashleyy said:U'r missing the point. When the moon is correctly exposed, the landscape will be too dark.. If the exposure for the landscape is correct, the moon will be over-exposed.
try it and you will know. 1 shot with 3 jpgs saved in the CF.Ashleyy said:Exposure bracketing simply take 3 shots with different exposure settings. It is not going to help you compensate correctly for both the moon and the landscape. :sticktong
wah chim!!!!scud said:this i know.

that is why u need to use the correct exposure on the moon (-1.5ev) and correct exposure on the foreground (+1.5ev) and layer together.
ev setting here are just example.
i have tried using film during uni days, metering the clouds and shoot. then meter the foreground and shoot. then place the 2 negs overlaping each other to get the print.
show what? badly beaten shuttercocks?Will03 said:show me can ?

i think we know how it can be done. just sometime the ev must set correctly.Ashleyy said:Isn't the below one the method I mention to PS??? :dunno:
Mabbe I'm not clear enuff..

we still need to do some ps work here. foreground may not be properly exposed, so need to dodge or bring out the highlights. burn the moon if overexposed. using mask layers and some basic workflow, you will get the result.
hehehe.. maybe i misunderstood u. :sweatsm:
Will..viewed liao. ISO 800 shots zoom in at 100% can see noise?Will03 said:will want to start.. but cant make it todae.. sick..
