Expected it to be noisy.. rainman used to use 1... think its the 300mm model ... focusing a tad slow and noisy. But just wanna see how good the optics are which is the main issue. May get the Tokina for the moment. Later when i snowball enough .. will settle for the white L ... :think:

the red ring versions might be noisier than the gold ring. my 28-70mm gold ring pro series dun seem to suffer from noisy focusing. anyway, this 2.8 lens is meant for emergencies - ie low-light situations. for normal shooting, like yesterday when i was out with FB shooting at the JE stadium, the f4L is easier to handle.

Thanks ... It is on one of those swings where u sit on the tyres and swing from one platform to another. She suddenly zipped by, and the swing decided to stop in front of me. No chance to even change the settings. Luckily dun have motion blur.

Tokina 100-300 if you dont mind the weight and alittle slow in focusing, sigma 70-200 HSM is damn :thumbsup:
I give VR a miss, picture re-production not as gd as the rest.

haha... u know my ans, rite? neither lens. if u have to get a zoom, IMO, save up and get a constant aperature one. variable zooms are good for budget-conscious shooters. however, after a while, u'll understand why people are willing to pay big bucks for a constant aperature lens. in the end, u might end up spending more money changing lens than buying a rite one from the beginning.
