From TS' pics, it looks to me they are the residue from the dust. I have similar experience with dust on sensor. The dark spots were quite obviously, but after I use a blower to blow at the sensor, those marks became quite faint and it resemble what you have on the pics. Since it was not really noticeable, I did not send it to CSC for cleaning.

But in your case, since you have already sent it to CSC for cleaning, you might want to ask them to do a complete job by removing those stains from the sensor. Perhaps CSC just use blower to clean your sensor the last time?

Honestly those built-in sensor dusts removal systems are pretty useless and not all can be removed.

U must know something. Dusts are everywhere even in lenses and these are normal. Everyone has some dusts inside their lenses and camera sensors. As long as they don't affect the pictures, it's fine.

Thanks. I dropped an email to CSC over the weekend and a CSC staff called me this afternoon. He told me too that it is normal to have dust inside the lens, but he not sure about that 'bubble'. To be safe, he asked me to bring it back for checking (since it is less than 2 weeks old).

i think can be try to air blow out the sensor.. after mirror trun.

before you air blow, you should get ready LED touch light to see wether inside is too dirty or not.

cause i have tried on my DSLR too.

I'm going to try to air blow the sensor... first time trying it. But why LED touch light? Normal one can?

Yeah so do not worry abt dusts on your sensor as everyone's DSLR will have it too. The only maintenance we have to do is to bring it to CSC for periodic checks and cleanings.

then just send to CSC for service..

cause your 5D is older model , didn't built-in dust sensor cleaning.

after service then used it properly don't exploded too much as out door when you changing your lens.

just keep your body infront facing down side, before mounting the lens.

Yeah, it defeats the purpose of using a DSLR. If one is so concerned, then get an all-in-one lens such as 28-300 for FF and 18-270 for APS-C.

I tried a couple of times and the 'marks' are still there when the aperture is set to f22 or above. I followed the advise such as turning the camera face down to avoid dirt etc but it doesn't work... In fact i seems to get more 'marks'...

The sensor looks clean from my naked eyes though...:think:

The sensor can capture even very small specs of dusts which our eyes can't see.

my advise is better don't use this dry cleaning method...clear away a stubborn spot only to introduce 2 more residue spots...end up no choice, used the wet solvent method to clean instead.
