SDHC Card class and size for HD camcorder?

For the current model of High Definition camcorders such as Canon HF M300 or Panasonic HDC SD60GC, would a SDHC class 4 card be sufficient? Or must one use Class 6?

Also, can a 16G card be used unstead of a 8G card?

Class 4 good. Class 6 better.

8G card OK. 16G card even better.

For SDHC: Class 2 has the slowest write speed and Class 10 has the fastest write speed. The faster it is, the more expensive it will be. Class 4 can only just make it provided the camera and resolve the bottleneck quickly enough otherwise Class 6 is advisable.

For SDHC Capacity: It starts from 2GB up to 32GB. The bigger the merrier. It means more recording time. 16GB Class 6 retails for around $68 and 16GB Class 10 cost more than $160.

I was at SLS today and happen to spot SanDisk 32GB Class10 selling for $139. You can get it from Cybermind. If I remember correctly Kingston 16GB Class4 selling for $49. Don't take my word for it. Shop around and you might spot some other shops selling at different prices

Thanks for the heads up. Will go down to SLS and take a look. If Sandisk Class6+16G is about $60-$70, then I'll settle with it:thumbsup:
