Hi all,

Some selections from my recent trip to Bali.
Anyone can help me ID the crab in the middle pix?

Comments and critique much appreciated.
Thanks for viewing!

Hmmm.. im guessing decorator crab?

Harlequin shrimp, decorator crab, and pygmy seahorse.

By the way, it is usually considered a no-no to be *touching* your subjects, so try not to get a finger in the photo, if you can help it.

Wow, the crab is gorgeous! The pygmy seahorse photo is very sharp (would be gorgeous w/o the finger there)... Which camera r u using?

The Harlequin pix was taken with a Canon A570 IS.
The other 2 were with an old Canon S45 with an Inon Macro lens attachment.

Don't worry, I employ a strict no touch policy when diving...I dive with no gloves, no pointer.
My finger was there to persuade Mr. Pygmy to turn his head back towards me...plus it gives a sense of scale as to how small the bugger actually is.

Looks like not very successful hehe... :bsmilie:
shining a light in the other direction might work better?

Yup, you're right...will try your suggestion the next time I encounter Mr. Pygmy!!

Agree, one needs another photo-diver with good rapport to take turns to shine a torch from the other side.

I like the decorator crab pic there!!
